Sunday Night Fire Down Bumpus/Clark's Creek Way

On our way back from South Central tonight around 9:30, coming by Clark's Creek - the whole ridge above - on fire. Looks like it's around the big field between the cul-de-sac and the Clark's Creek horse trail. Where those couple houses are. Couldn't find anything yet on the news. Flames clearly visible from 107.

the forestry dept was doing a controlled burn on south holston mountain for miles saturday afternoon as i was cruising through with the doors off - toasty... maybe a similar thing you witnessed???

All the news said this morning as of 730 is that the FS was battling fires in the Bumpus Cove area....so I dont imagine it was controlled or they would have said so.

wow my guess was waay off, its been on the news all day

Rode down Hwy. 75 through Bowmantown this evening about 4p.m. Could see the immense clouds of white smoke billowing out of a valley and one ridge top over there. I know the FS said it was under control, but to see it you'd think otherwise. Hope we get some showers to help those firefighters.
