Did you know that cats and dogs are suppose to live for about 27 years...but most die at about 12 or 13...it said that the reason being the food we feed them....cats and dogs are put to sleep with a chemical called sodium pentobarbital..those cats and dog end up in the food our pets eat...the bad part is that the SP does not break down al the way in the process..so yes we are feeding our animals a deadly chemical that is slowly killing them...and on top of that the animals that go into our dog food are not cleand and nothin is removed...collars dog tags..none of it...no not all dog food is like this iam just sayin look at the food lable next time you buy dog food :!:

see thats whats wrong with the world today...we have been feed lies all are life and then when someone trys to help no one wants to believe...dont believe it if you dont want....one of my friends has two chiwawa both on year 24 and they are still running strong.....so i guess iam only imagining them....yeh right..do what you want its your dog i tried to help but it seems no one ever needs it

If the food we feed them kills them....why don't dogs, such as wolves, who do not eat dog food not live for nearly 30 years? or wild cats such as lions? they do not eat this poisned food. Even the record for a wolf lifespan, in captivity with health care is only 20 years.

I could be absolutely wrong about this, but I have always understood that the only animal used for dog food is cattle and horses. And those animals are slaughtered at the dog food factory. They used something along the lines of a bolt gun and shoot them in the head. Again, I could be totally wrong here. But the local vets around here that put animals down generally use an incinerator to burn the bodies to dust.

Every breed of dog has an average lifespan. In general, the bigger the dog the shorter the lifespan.

For example, I was speaking to a preacher a few weeks ago that said one of the courses in siminary (college for preachers) was called "How to lie with statitics". Look, I probably know more than your average bear about what goes into dog food. If you were to walk through a dog food processing plant and then through an Oscar Meyer plant I would bet you be eating dog food for the rest of your days.
The majority of dog food is corn based, the only animal products you will find in it will be in the form of meat or bone meal, or a fat product used as an adhering agent. The process of making all animal feeds is watched so closely that even the date of harvest of corn has to be known before it can introdued into production.
Recent outbreaks of mad cow and the famed "Diamond Dog food killings" have really stepped up not only federal regulations or but also company regulations for the manufacturers. Stock and pet foods are tested more throughly and have higher FDA regulations on productions than food that is produced for human consumption.

Seriously though, one can only do so much.

I was filling up with diesel the other day and talking on the cell phone (gasp). The guy at the pump in front of me was looking at me like I had horns coming out of my head and was sacraficing a goat. I finish both the call and fillup and he lays into me about how "his sisters friend saw a news story on TV about how a family got 4th degree burns cause someone was talking on their cell phone at a gas station"

I politely but frimly explained that first of all 4th degree burns are electrical burns from getting struck by lightning or touching extreme high voltage power transmission lines. Second that there has NEVER been a gas station fire proven to be started by a cell phone and that a vast majority of gas station fires are caused by static electricity when ppl get in and out of thier cars a cpl times while filling up. I went on about mythbusters and all that but he wasn't buying it... He had it in his mind that I was gonna blow the whole place up...

He stormed off muttering something about having the manager call the police. I was done anyway so I shrugged my shoulders and drove off before he started to tell me that GW Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks...
