This time of year all the blood banks run low and I know almost everybody here has an extra pint of the red stuff to give. So I encourage you all to visit your local blood bank (Marsh Regional for the tricities (http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=marsh+regional+blood&fb=1&gl=us&hq=marsh+regional+blood&hnear=Blountville,+TN&view=text&ei=jbIfS7iDG8WUtgeLxNmlCg&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=more-results&resnum=5&ved=0CBgQtQMwBA)) and give. Heck they even give you a T-Shirt and free snacks afterward.

'Tis the season for giving!
It doesn't take that long to do and you could be saving someone's life.
They're always super appreciative at Marsh too.

I need to check tomorrow and see how long it's been since I gave. I think it's about time again. Thanks for the reminder. Marsh has their mobile unit here at work all the time.
No need to remind me, they call for my wife's blood it seems like twice a week!

If she gave them what they wanted, that should make them back off for 6-8 weeks, right? :kewl:

I hope that lots of O- people are donating....
O- people may be able to donate to anyone, but O- people can only receive O- blood transfusions

O- donors should get an extra shirt or something lol

I am O but don't remember if it is + or -. You are correct about what you just said Byron. I go every 2 weeks and they take a pint. But I do mine on a Dr's note so I get around the 8 weeks thing. I have hemochromatosis, too much iron in my system. The treatment is to draw blood. Works out good on both ends. Plus if I ever need blood or anyone in my family needs it they can have it for free. :)
