The wife picked this up for me a few days ago. We went to Mahoneys about a week ago and i really liked this gun. I couldnt decide between the LCP or the ruger LCR (Rugers new 38 revolver) But since they had a few of these in stock so she got it for me. Its my 1 year anniversary present, which is next weekend. :D Havent gotten to shoot it yet, but hopefully i get to this weekend. I know ammo is hard to find for a 380, but i got to looking through my boxes, and i have about 400 rounds put back. so enough to see how it will shoot.

Ruger LCP .380

Nice weapon... and happy anniversary.

Im in the market for something similar. My Springfield XD is way too big for concealed carry.

Would something like this fit in an ankle holster? Or do you carry in a pocket or on your hip?

My brother in law has one and really like it. He carries it mostly in his coat pocket.

Very Nice! I'm a Ruger man but have not had the chance to shoot an LCP, or LCR.

Its a copy but Ruger does them right. Unlike SCCY who also copied the Keltec. Dont bother even looking at the SCCY. I took one in a trade and it was very prone to stove piping, would not cycle mid range ammo and the safety broke. The safety also kicked back on safe after each fire due to the recoil.

Please write up about your shoots with the LCP. I know Christmas is coming and may start sneaking some "Hints" in.... :)

Happy Anniversary!

I am hopefully getting her a new camera. Her b-day and our anniversary is in the same week, so she will get just one big gift for both.

It will definitely fit in an ankle holster.

I looked at the Keltecs but just wasnt that impressed. Most of the reviews i read were kinda mixed about it. You either liked it or hated it. I was kinda suprised how much i liked the ruger as well. Plus I own several other rugers, and have yet to have one that didnt shoot great. It fit really nice in my hand while holding it. Ill definitely post up some feedback when i get to shoot it.

The SCCY is a "copy" of the keltec. one of the designers from keltec left the company and started SCCY (IIRC) I've seen some of the SCCY guns and was very unimpressed. Reminds me alot of highpoint guns.

The ruger looks alot like the keltec but I belive i've read that its too unsimilar to be considered a "copy"

Dave, you can get alot of different holsters for these little guns. Fobus offers a paddle holster like this:
(obviously the keltec is on the right)

or you can get a pocket holster like this:
(again, on the right)

or you can have Cross Breed Holsters make you an inside the waist band holster called the supertuck delux. (a christian owned company) I don't have one for my keltec since IF i carry that one, its always in the pocket holster. This is what they look like though:

...also, you can get a little clip from keltec that bolts on to the side of the gun and acts like a pocket knife clip. Sgtbriangreen has a first gen. keltec and has the clip on the side.

I've been thinking about maybe getting an ankle holster for my little .380 You can get a pretty cheap version of one from Uncle Mikes holsters.

Def. let us know how you like the Ruger. I've read some great writeups on it and it seems to have had better reviews than the keltecs.

Thanks for all the info Justin. I'll keep that christian-owned holster company in mind.
