Anyone have a Savage rifle with the new Accutrigger?

Just purchased one in 243 for a lighter caliber hunting rifle. Have the ability to reload 243 so I can play around with loads and projectiles to find what works best for my application.

I have one in 308 cal (Tactical), you might think I'm crazy but I like this rifle better than rifles I've had that I had over $5K in.

Same here while I haven't had any quite that expensive. I have shot my 223 against much higher priced rifles. I own 5 different Savages and it is the first brand I look for when buying a bolt action.

I agree I have two savage rifles 1 in 308 and 1 in 300wm. I love them They are acurate and shoot great.

I would say that a smaller caliber in savage rifles are better, because I had a 7mm Mag. and it was all over the paper. I tried siting it for 500 yards, but it wouldn't keep the group tight enough. Even after buying a new $250 scope and mounts, then I sold it.

Sorry you had a bad one, My .300WM Tactical would hold 8" at 900 Meters (in the hands of my friend who is a real profesional sniper for a large PD). And I hate to tell you this but shooting at those distances a 250.00 scope just doesn't cut it. I can't spend the big bucks on them either I just have been real lucky finding high dollar scopes for cheap at pawn shops and gun shows.

My neice shoots one in .308 hi-power rifle competition and she regularly beats guys with full on comp rifles. Hers is out of the box with the stock cut down to fit her shorter arms.

Both mine shoot better than the remington sniper rifles I used in the military. I changed the stocks because they are not properly balanced but with that they shoot great.
