Does anyone know of a place I can take some old tires. there is a spot on my way home that I have notice some people left some tires. When I can I wanna be able to pick them up and take them to a suitable place. Not to mention I will need to get rid of a couple of tires my self.

Call the county solid waste dept. You can take about two tires at a time to the local landfill.

Also if you will put them in a trashbag your regular trash service will take them.

There's a place for Washington county off of Eastern Star Rd. They charge $1 a piece to dispose of them.

I need to make a tire run for you guys. In McMinn County, I took about 50 or 60 old tires to the dump and they took them all. They didnt charge me a dime.

If thats the case we should do a tire clean up or something.

Why not just make a tire pit like you see on alot of 4x4 videos?

If you go of eastern star exit toward j.c. turn r at the top of the ramp and go approx 1 mile, there is a sign for a model airplane airport or something like that on the r hand side it is down over the bank there. You cant miss it,I have hauled several tractor trailer loads in there, they charge a dollar a tire the best I remember. What is funny is they charge us then turn around and grind them up to put in asphalt for the roads.

I have been wondering where that rc airport was at. Supposently its huge for RC planes. I have heared several pilots comment on it, that it look so real.

Oh yeah the tires on the side of the road that i saw the other day are fortunatley gone. BUt I'll still have to get rid of my old ones. two are near bold and the ones that do have good tread have slashes that are so big I am surrprised they haven't blown.

There is a sign there for the tire place also turning off of Eastern Star. From JC, turn left at the end of the ramp.

Never had them ask me, but maybe they looked at my tag. Its worth a shot.

The "convenience center" here in Gray will take up to 4 tires per year per person,(don't know how they keep track!), for free. I think that's how it was.
Turn on Mohler Dr. across from the John Deere dealership on Hwy.75 otherwise known as Bobby Hicks Hwy.

I'm thinking they will only accept them on certain days, not all the time.
