This week-end I will be rebuilding the Samurai transmission. Hope to be up and running by next week sometime. Still waiting on the clutch parts.

I was able to do the rebuild, now I am just putting it back together. It was easier than I thought, I am just glad I had the spare trans to use as a guide to reassemble. Jigsaw puzzles can be stressful.

Sorry about the wrong forum, I just ordered a high performance clutch from Petroworks in CA. These guys rock, I have never had bad service or products from them.
Should get the clutch early next week, and be on the road in time for the M&G!!!

Got the clutch, works great. Found out that I accidently put an 1986 (.765:1) 5th gear in with an 1988.5+ (.865:1) counter gear. Doesn't work! It was a very ugly sound combined with metal shavings in the bottom of the tranny. Got it fixed now though. It runs good now except I had to use the .865 ration to fix it. Wish I had the .795 ratio. A lot of Samurai guys want the .865 ratio as it keeps the RPMs up in fifth so they can pull hills with bigger tires. My diesel wants the lower RPMs though.

good to hear you got it rebuilt... I did a sami tranny a few years back & it was 10x easier than the t18 before it... I took multiple pictures of everything as I pulled it apart, as well as laying everything out in the order it was to be installed... that helped alot during reassembly
