For the trail, rolling out at high noon???with this number of rigs, unless someone feels differently, let?s use the Food City parking lot as the meeting spot.

Well I have watched this thread from the begining and was deciding on wether to go home for the superbowl or to go wheeling, hard decsion. I figured that I would say something now instead wait till the last minute, I will know for sure in a couple of days but as things look now I am in for the ride, no dinner and I will then go home to watch the Colts win the Vince Lambardi Trophy.

Well it looks like I am in for sure. Coach just told me that I didnt have to go to my track meet, because the trainer says that my wrist is strained. So they are putting me on injuried reserve, and therefore I cannot throw which I cant go to the meet, so that they can save money. Still in for the ride, hopefully I can get my spring spacers installed this week.

I would love to go up but I haven't gotten the X finished yet and I dont want to ruin the trail ride with an untested rig. However We would be interested in meeting for dinner or whatever after the ride.
If I get the X ready in the next day or two and do some testing we might drive, otherwise just dinner.

TiredIronGRB
01-31-2007, 12:44 PM
Well if I have to spell it out...
When it snows heavy the weight of the snow causes the laurl bushes to sag very low. To the point of only being headlight high this hakes it a rough ride not being able to see anything. Those that were there know how bad it was.
Gubni
01-31-2007, 12:56 PM
He's not playing. It bent my antenna and broke off a wiper arm. I also got my windshield cracked on the way back down when I hit a branch going a little too fast.
There was a guy in a big chevy truck that slid off the side of the trail also.
Should we make a backup plan?
MarkH
01-31-2007, 01:23 PM
Should we make a backup plan?
Kinda thinkin' the same. I really don't like the idea of gouging up my new top before it gets a little seasoned! I've got to consider it's my DD too!
If we even get 2" to 4" in the lowlands it'll probably be double that in the elevations and the high is going to be like 34. :(
88yotapickup
01-31-2007, 01:24 PM
yeah a back up plan sounds like a smart idea
and also the day you all went i didnt know the extent of the weather the day we went it wasnt that bad but it was slick

Let's see what happens late Thursday or early Friday as far as forecast. With as fickle as weather forecasting is, we could jump through hoops that may not need to pass.
Options could be Horse Creek or Bays, I guess. Both should be open.

I think that this weather/snow storm is gonna be a few inches tomorrow and then it is supposed to turn to rain/sleet in the afternoon which means most of the snow on the trees will be washed off....and friday is supposed to be above freezing so it wont be there come the time we are gonna be riding stoney. Its just gonna be like the typical snow storm this year....last for a day and thats it. :( Dumb southern weather.... :P
So no need to worry about runnin horse creek or bays imo.....

Alright they make these things called, axes, hatchets, and chain saws. Man over tree and limbs. Naaa just kidding, I am in with Monstero, just plan and go, the snow will be gone, and if not we still go and finds ways to get through the trees, besides the park service might of trimmed a little since the last time. But thats my opinion.
BillM

Park service???? Little Stoney is really not something that is maintained to be honest. I believe though that the snow will be gone. At least for the most part.

We actually waited at the Hilton betting that the gate was closed and everyone may be coming back that way.
Then dropped Brandon off at his rig...

Well, everyone, I made it home safely at 9 pm last night. I had the most fantastic weekend, it was so wonderful that, I have to admit, I cried Monday morning because I really just did NOT want to leave.
The first smiling face I saw was Gordon, and the last smiling face was Bill's but certainly I can't forget George, Sam, Vince, Mark, and Ben. I really appreciate everyone spending some time with me this weekend. Thanks to Sam, Bill, and Ben for driving me around everywhere. And thank you Mark for the awesome trail ride!
