My mother went to the doctor today because she had been feeling bad for a while and they told her that she has type 2 diabetes. This has really blind sided her. Please pray for comfort, understanding, and Gods will in this matter.

Has she had the fasting blood work done yet? They really need that to determine true diabetes. Also me dad has had it for 10 years and has it under control with diet.

It is very treatable, although inconvenient.

yes, she went through the long (4 hour i belive) test yesterday i belive. They called her today to come back in and talk to her about medication.

Prayers sent. They told daddy the same thing about 4 years ago. He dramatically changed his diet and now he dosent even have to take medication. I cant force him to eat redvelvet cake anymore.

they told her to change her diet and start taking some kind of pills to start with along with testing 2 times a day. Hopefully this will get it under controll.

Done! My brother has been Diabetic for about 20 years now and they have him on the pump. As long as she watches what she eats and keeps an eye on the blood sugar checks she should do well.

I will be praying. Being a Type 1 diabetic for almost 20 years, I can honestly say that I know what she is going through. The insulin pump has been a miracle machine for me. It has really helped me get my blood sugars under control like never before.
