I'm looking for enough clear plastic/vinyl material to make or have made a rear window for my XJ. If i can get enough for cheap enough i'll have some made for the side cargo windows too. Its only a matter of time before some green buggy knocks them out too :D
If i can get the raw materials i'll probaby just make them my self...or if anyone here does boat canvas type stuff let me know. I'm looking for something kind of like what Hadfield4wd (Matt) has on his xj but with black around the edge instead of white.

ahem, that's tan.
And I hear real men can sew.
The real trick to it was the snaps. She had a trick tool. I put all the snaps in the Jeep. She had none in the canvas. She had an attachment with a long pointed pin, that snaped on the snaps that were on the jeep. She then punctured the canvas and that is how she got the snaps to line up. If this isn't explained well let me know I'll try to clarify.

I've got an email into a local custom boat canvas guy.
I also found a site where you can order the clear material...wow, this could be almost as expensive as replacing the hatch, painting it, ect...
Maybe this guy will contact me back tomorow with a good price.

what about getting a piece of plexiglass to cut and use in them? wont shatter, and might be cheaper/easier option...

I guess I could go that route but I kind of like the idea of being able to unsnap them and roll them up to store when not in use.

I had plexi in my rear before I broke out the sides. I used the original weather striping and it didn't stay in well. If you use plexi you should bolt it.
I like being able to take my windows out now, and still have a top.
