I was at a car lot looking at a Honda Pilot for the wife today and saw a Hyundai Veracruz. I sat in it, and then test drove it...I hate to say it, but I really liked it. I think I may need some professional help.

My son and daughter-in-law have a Sante Fe and it has been a superb vehicle. Resale value is in the crapper, but if you keep it for 200K, who cares.

well, we were looking at the Pilot, and i also was looking at a Volvo XC90 sitting beside it. She said the veracruz was a similar size and type so we looked at it also. The inside of it was very nice but we decided not to go with it. Now she is considering the Volvo. But who knows, she also is going to look at an Expedition today. She can't make up her mind but everytime she sees another vehichle that she likes its more expensive than the last.

My wife had a Murano and we looked at all of the suvs of that size and we ended up buying a Kia Sorento I did not want to but the wife liked it the best and we got the best price on it. new car 100,000 mile waranty 4x4 for under 18 grand!

In this day and age, I'd look at all possibilites. They are really coming along in the safety, value, and resale these days, and if you dont trade cars every 2 years, then they are the best bang for the buck.
Also...those who say buy American, I agree. BUT I think its better to also get the best for your dollar that you can afford.
If its a Hyundai, then rest better knowing that you kept an AMERICAN in a job since most of them are assembled in ALABAMA! FYI.

I drove a Pilot, Traverse and a Jeep commander today. I really liked the pilot and the chevy.. The jeep was really nice but seemed sluggish.. I do plan on driving the Veracruz as well. The ford flex is just too ugly so I'm skipping that one.

We looked at the 4 door JK's but that got thrown out the window once we saw the sticker price. Just too rich for our pocket books...especially the auto/hard top model she would have wanted.
We didn't end up buying American though...we bought Sweedish!!!
2006 Volvo XC90 Got a good deal on it and its very nice. The only thing i'm concerned about is all the speeding tickets or excessive acceleration tickets we may end up getting. Its a straight 5 cyl., 2.5L Turbo. It will surprise you when you put the pedal down.

I wish I could get a hold of some money so I could try to hide it. That would be fun to try :D
We are actually spending less per month on the Volvo than we have been on the 4Runner

Until you need to repair it.
Nice cars, but cost of repair is really high.

I like the Volvo. My sister has a 1999 S70 with the 5cyl non turbo and it does very well. Plus Volvo makes the safest cars on the road. As for Hyundai, they have a better customer satisfaction than Honda does now.

Well at least Volvo was/is owned by Ford. Either way, your gonna be safe in that vehicle. A good choice even if its not Fully American.
