The company I work for (ASA) just lost the bid on the TRI station. We have had TRI for many years and Seeing as Delta wants cheaper service, we lost the station. SO Mesaba a competitor is gonna be expanding and doing the Delta connection ground service. The ASA folks most likely will not be coming back to the lower paying job. 15+ an hour down to 8 or 9 bucks for the same job isn't worth their while. So a bunch of positions will be opening up. I think some time mid june. Will keep ya posted.

I hear this all the time. They'd rather drawl unemployment than work for less. I know two other people that chose unemployment. One day they will wish they had a job.

Well, Each person gets a check for every year they were there. Since most have been there for 10 years or more they are taking the checks. Then they will sit on the unemployment cause it pays more then what they would get under the new management. Some of the folks are leaving for better carreers anyways. Others will stick it out and probably come back after its all said and done. But for the rest of the people that may need a job soon or now. Go for it.

Looks like the official day for transition is July 23rd. However Mesaba is trying to move the date up to The 21st of June. Apply with Mesaba at the Tri City airport. I think the starting pay is around 8 something and you should get some sort of flight benefits.
