Read the replies on your "witnessing on pirate4x4" thread. That should address most of your concerns.

Kill them with kindness (I.E. My wife is the bundle hauler for most of my carriers (Johnson City Press) and she has problems with one of them in particular that has a foul mouth and she never has anything good to say about anybody or anything. I told my wife that the next time she starts that mess she should look her dead in the eye and say "God Bless You Anyway". That very night she had her chance and it worked. Now that carrier watches her mouth around my wife and me, she has also seemed a little more up beat.

thats just the main reason i even get on pirate, if the christians of this world does nothing to help the lord pass his word....than who will? did jesus stay at home and let people come to him to hear his word. of coarse not. its gonna take more than just me. in my opinion thats why this world has turned upsidedown in the last decade. christians are standing up at church against the sin in the world, but not out in the world. when obama told the world, just a few weeks back, that "we" do not consider ourselves a christian nation, how many christians do you know stood against him? we all talked about it, be how many of us did something about it. just think, when just a few people got together and decided to take god out of our schools, they got the job done, why is it that with millions of people confessing to be christians in this world, we cant get god back in the school systems. i am NOT trying to step on anybodys toes, im just speaking about what worries me. some people will disagree with this, and i respect everyones opinions, but i believe that not only can we put the blame on sin taking over our nation, but more like US, christians are sitting back and letting all this happen around us. just please pray for me as i am on pirate that something that i will have to say, will bring someone to christ. thank you all for being supportive. :icon_lol:

It's hard to go either way with this on one hand you've got:
"Blessed are those who are persecuted, for theirs will be the Kingdom of heaven" If it's persecution you want, Pirate is probably the best place to get it.
However, God also talks about casting the seed in the Rocks vs. casting seed in Good soil in Matthew 13. I believe he did this as a teaching tool for witnessing against the old church leaders who would simply stand on a street corner and yell Brimstone and Hellfire.
Not saying either case is right or wrong, just that the bible seems to give contradicting lessons at first glance. To me it sounds like the first verse proves to reward you for being persecuted against, while the second shows how to be rewarded for your service and be successful with your efforts.

"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteous" not for just anything, we need to make sure the Lord is leading us in what we do.
Also, be well versed in the scriptures. When I was an atheist, I used to make so-called "Christians" look like idiots when they would witness to me in a crowd because 9 times out of ten I knew more about the bible than they did.

George that is very true. We can do more harm than good when we try to witness ill prepared for the task. If you are to be successful you need 3 things for sure. First a good knowledge of scripture, second the urging of God, and third someone willing to listen..
