Looking good. Keep it up.

I like it, the yellow and blues ones are my favorites.
Don't hammer the rear diff too hard, I towed one in down at Gray Rock that grenaded the rear carrier
Matt07FJ
01-02-2007, 04:10 PM
I hammered mine my rear diff pretty hard yesterday....but A-TRAC is amazing.....all in all I'm impressed w/ the abilities of it....

I'd like to see one on 36's or even 38's

not bad looking at all if I do say so myself. Hmm now if it only had solid axles.
Matt07FJ
01-03-2007, 12:03 PM
It's got the solid in the rear...but I agree...I can't wait for a SAS kit for the front....
BroncoMike
01-03-2007, 12:22 PM
Nice rig you got there Matt!
Monstero
01-03-2007, 01:02 PM
I've always liked them......the one that they built up for the "Ultimate Adventure" was a sweet ride...with a SAS, I just didnt care much for the green color. Was a great lookin rig though....built up wth 35s they look pretty sweet....your A-TRAC is probably pretty similar to my MATT system on mine....I would still like locker on mine though instead....but it gets me where I need to go.
Matt07FJ
01-03-2007, 01:13 PM
For the most part everywhere I've wanted to go - ATRAC has made it a lot easier then the locker.....I think that is a really really strong point to these rigs....
TiredIronGRB
01-03-2007, 01:20 PM
That rear dif is the weak point, I know of four that have broke but they were really hammering them.
Matt07FJ
01-03-2007, 01:24 PM
yeah, it uses the same rear diff as the tacoma's.....
here's a list to countless breaks on those things...

But I could jump it like this guy did his.....
TiredIronGRB
01-03-2007, 01:42 PM
I doubt that it would ever fail with moderate wheeling, the I actually saw break was when the guy was trying to get over a 30" ledge. There's pictures of it in the Galler under Gray Rock.
Matt07FJ
01-03-2007, 01:46 PM
It looks like the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams was there....I'm pretty sure that Black Cherry one w/ Cali Plates is theirs...and maybe the Yellow one too....
I'm assuming it's the silver one that broke?
Derrickalda
01-03-2007, 02:14 PM
yup the blackcherry one, and the yellow ones were part of the team. i didn't see them do any hard wheeling....they were more talk!
but they did give away alot of free stuff so FJ Cruisers are ok in my book
the grey one belonged to a private owner and it was the highest modified one.........i felt bad for him. he ruined the rig on a trail called bunny slope.
he'll never live that down
Matt07FJ
01-03-2007, 02:24 PM
yeah, i've wheeled w/ the trail team a few times...if you can really get them in a bunch of FJs....they will do some more extreme stuff....I love the swag they've given out...I have a ton of it.....
Hate that for the silver one...but that's a chance you take.....
Matt07FJ

But for the big news - it goes to Rough Country's shop in Dyersburg, TN October 1 & 2 for a 6" lift on top of the FOX coilovers - and the buildup will be featured in a couple of 4wd magazines. It will also pick up American Racing Thugs as the wheel. Everything should be completed in time for the Fall Crawl at Harlan.
See you guys there!

You're telling me....Since the April Fools thing @ Harlan - I've been as far west as running some trails in Moab. We did Poison Spider Mesa, Hells Revenge, Hells Gate, Fins & Things, and Top of the World.
But I'll for sure be in Harlan next month.

My wifes wants her own. I just will build it so I don't become the Karrie recovery team.
I really like the FJC. I was at Rockport ORV in April (?) 2006 and the Trail Team was there, so I got to drive one. Must say that it made my Trooper feel like the 20-year-old truck that it is!
ATRAC was really impressive...tracking through the mud then into a rock pile and idled right over the crest...it was smooooooth.
Many dislike the IFS, but not me...I suppose it all depends upon your preferred terrain and driving style.

Thanks!
I'm not gonna get too extremely crazy with it especially until I get a good feel of what it can do....
This is practically a custom lift kit due to the Fox Shox....they had to do so much modification to make it work w/ the longer coilovers...
I'm going to take it easy on it for the first couple of trips to make sure that I'm not flexing too much in the front and end up hyper-extending my CVs...
