plans for the moment are to just drive it. im trying to track down the brushgard that used to be on it. im redneck restoring the interior right now.(spray cans). the color is harbor blue. basically a baby blue. ive got to fix the rust hole and bubbles, but other than i have no imediate paint plans. eventually i want to put a 4in lift and try to get 35s under it without cutting the fenders. im itching to take it somewhere i just dont trust it enough yet to drive it far. plus i dont have good places to hook a strap to it when it get stuck yet.

oh and thats good old south carolina red clay mixed with some dirt road mud.

If you want an inexpensive 6-7" of lift (what you'll need for 35" and some flex), then do a spring over conversion and get 2" longer shackles. An SOA (Spring Over Axle) involves welding new spring perches on top of the axles, then mounting the axles under the leaf springs. You'll also need a 4" dropped pitman arm, new (longer) shocks, and to have your driveshafts lengthened a bit.

And that's just the basics  Nice Scout ya got there man 8)

i may wait on that for a bit. its got a 2in body lift already. i hate to cut the fenders up just yet. i think ther're still mostly there. who knows though. if there rusted out i may get a body shop i know of to redo the wheel well openings.

I thought You couldn't do the Spoa on a scout cause the one spring perch would be sitting on the diff too high. Or I maybe thinking of when I thought of using scout axles for my Samurai.

It just takes making 2 different height perches so they'll be level when mounted to the springs.

That is one nice rig. I can't wait to see it on the trail some time. doesn't look like it even needs much.

it does need at least 2in more in lift. the tires touched a little in those pics.

All it needs is a spring-over & a little sawzall treatment 8)

Nice Binder ya got there man, body is in MUCH better shape than my '78 was.

i wasnt going to cut the body b/c of how clean it was, but the longer i have the more rust i see starting to pop up around the wheel wells in the back. if it doesnt sell i'll probably cut the fenders for clearance. i think with some of the body cut and 2 more inches it might be possible to fit 35s. maybe.
