how is the easy way to put in freeze plugs

No big problem if you can get to them. Clean where old one was real good & put a small bead of silicone on it. I always used a socket as large as possible and a hammer & be sure to keep it going in as straight as you can. This is my way. Has always worked for me.

They also have rubber ones that you tighten a nut & it swells the rubber if it is in a hard to get place.

Basically tap them in and use a large socket to keep from denting them.
