Guys, I need your input, advice, and opinions to see if this will happen.

Here is our plan for now. We're still trying to nail down a date in June or July.

There will be three classes:
(1) Stock Body 35" tire and smaller
(2) Stock Body 36" tire and larger
(3) Pro Buggy

This will be a timed event, over various terrain -- rocks, hills, and trail. The stock-bodied course will be a little different from the buggies.

Entry-fee for both Stock-bodied -- $50, Pro Buggy -- $100
There will be 100% Payback for all classes
1st -- 60%
2nd -- 30%
3rd -- 10%

ROLL-CAGES, 5-POINT HARNESS, AND HELMET ARE REQUIRED.

Sounds interesting. What about classifying by engine size instead of tire size? Just a thought.

Here are the rules for the Crozet members comp.

4 classes

*Stock - 35" and under. Must have normal steering. Factory type suspension - no long arm kits. Must wear seat belts.
*Mod Stock - 37" and under. Must have normal steering. Factory type suspension. If your rig came stock with coils - must have coils, leaf springs stock - must keep the leaves. Long arm kits ARE allowed, hydro assist IS allowed. Must wear seat belts.
*Modified - 35" and up. No full hydraulic, coilovers or airshocks. Must have frame tied-in cage/harness
*Unlimited - Anything goes. Must have frame tied-in cage/harness

The tire size for the Mod group is kind of funny because someone with 35's could run any class, they still would need the safety equipment for Mod or Unlimited. It would be their choice though. We want as many people to be able to compete as possible.

Start the event at 1:00PM on the Saturday of the MOR (November 17th)
2 obstacles per class
No spectators (other then members and their passengers)
No charge for the event
Winner will get a free pass and bragging rights

Rules:
*Most points win!
*3 to 5 minutes (based on obstacle) time to complete.
*Spotters can not touch cones - if they do instant DQ and -100 points
*Must stay inside of tape boundary or DQ and -100 points (Competitors may take any route they wish. Start in the middle, end, or beginning). *The goal is to knock down all the cones and at the bare minimum you must pass though/knock down the start and end gates.
*10 cones per obstacle
*If you break you have the amount of time to repair until you are called to run the next obstacle. If the other competitors allow you to run last you may
*Order is chosen by drawing numbers and will rotate for each class

Scoring:
* -5 points for each backup (rolling a few inches due to clutch or t-case engagement/disengement, obstacle pushing you backwards not counted)
* -5 points for use of rear steer (once per obstacle)
* +10 points for each cone HIT (Got this idea from Clayton passed through Dave Smiley)
* +10 points (only for Mod and Unlimited class) for each side that touches the ground (flop or roll over)
* +15 points (only for Mod and Unlimited class) if on lid or side and recover (roof and/or side must be solid on the ground - sliding along big rocks i.e. Body Shop does not count)
* -30 points for timeout before exiting/knocking down the end gate/start gate cones. If you hit one or straddle it you must knock them both down, this goes for the start gates as well as the end gates

I am interested. My only thoughts is the cost of the entry fees. I doubt I can win against Bill so I'd be doing it just for fun.

Bill wont win, -- he always breaks.
