I thought this was going to be this coming weekend. That's ok though because I was not going to get to go this Sunday and I really want to do this location. Since this is going to be a bit more of a ride and we all have to go the same direction, is anyone interested in meeting up and we all take my van.

I will be ordering on Friday. Im getting a black diamond momentum harness, chalk bag, caribiner (locking) and an atc.
Also, if I can find a pair of shoes for cheap, Im gonna order those too.

I'm in if we don't have to do ice climbing that weekend. Maybe dates got edited, but the cave vert training is Feb 22nd unless something else changes it.

50% chance of rain right now, if that remains the case, I would probably prefer to take the lesser drive to asheville and know that we can climb indoors even if it does rain, as opposed to getting all the way to backbone only to get soaked.

Sounds real good to me. Since I would prefer the wall to the real thing the first time I do this. You think Aaron could hold me on bolea (sp?) LOL I am about 220 lbs

Yes, I could hold you, the friction and weight goes to the belay device, and I would be anchored to the ground. I belayed Elkan all day long Saturday.

Well that settles that. Elkin weighs more than I do....LOL :D

Elkan, any objection to going back to the gym this week and waiting on it to get warmer for backbone?

None what so ever. I was just looking at the weather for Damascus and they are calling for strong thunder storms Wed. and rain again Sat. if that holds true then it will be too wet to climb anyway. I am looking forward to getting Bill on the other end of a rope:icon_mrgreen:.
Climbmax will probably work out better for me and you anyway. Candy and I will most likely do the Valintines day thing Sunday evening like you and Tam. Will Tam be going with us again?

Yep, I figured Tam and I would find a nice resturant to eat at afterwards, just wish there was some place to shower between climbing and eating.

I am trying to talk Candy into going with us and it looks like it's working. We will most likely wait till we get back to JC for dinner. I just looked and they don't open till 1:00pm on Sundays and they close at 6:00pm so it will be a shorter day than last week.

Yeah, I would want to be there right at one though and get all the climbing in that I can, I will be buying new shoes, and I got my harness and other gear in tonight.

Cook for her; even if you can't, you'll still get brownie points. :)

Backbone is outside of Damascus Va. but the trip to Backbone has been posponed because it is going to be so wet this week. We are going to Climbmax (an indoor climbing gym) in Ashville NC. You are more than welcome to come with us, you can carpool with me and it cost $12.50 to climb and if you have to rent gear (which all you should need is shoes) it cost $7 for everything or $3 for shoes $3 for harness $1 for belay device and $1 for chalk bag. I will start a new thread for the new trip to see who is going and who needs a ride.
