Some of us are going to Blue Hole on Sunday around 2pm to do some climbing and or rappeling. I have two extra harnesses but Aaron has dibbs on one of them.
Post up if ya want to go and let us know what gear you have so we can see if we have enough for everyone.
I have
1 Petzel harness (mine)
2 Blue Water harnesses 16" to 45" waist
2 Figure 8's
1 ATC
3 locking carabiners
200' of Blue Water static rope

Im there! Daniel, do you have dynamic rope right?

Daniel's is dynamic. I found out that you can do top rope with static but not when you anchor point is below you. It can't take that much shock load.

My back cant take that much shock load, you ever took a fall on static, it hurts.

I'll try to make it, just not sure right now.
I would like to invite any of you who are interested to come to:
Our caving club is going to have vertical practice @ Appalachian Caverns on Sunday Feb. 8th. We will set up about 10am and have practice available for most of the day. This is a chance to practice rappelling and using rope climbing systems. We will have many rappel and climbing systems that can be tried out. Our instructors wrote the vertical rescue book, so they are the best. We practice in the entrance room of the cave, so it is indoors. We have rappels rigged up in the 35-40' range. They are not so tall to be as intimidating for beginners, but we can give some problems to work on for anyone experienced as well.
If anyone is interested, please RSVP me so I'll know who to expect.

I'm all for a few trips there. I have a 12 passanger van that we can use to make the trip and everyone ride together and save on fuel. We can use the van for any trip I just need a couple days notice to set the seats in.
