I ordered two poly bushings from www.Coperheadfab.com on Oct 31. The charge hit my bank account by Monday Nov 3. Apparently they were out of stock on these bushings and had to order them from their supplier. Long story short, I'm not impressed with the service or responsivness so far. I understand if the items are on back order, but I expect a notice telling me there will be a short delay and keeping me up-to-date on my order status with expected dates. I've contacted James at copperhead fab twice by e-mail. First time after a week and a half (about the time I expected to have received the order) simply asking for order status and a ship date so I'd better understand when I should expect it to arrive. The answer I got was I've had to order these and they should arrive any day, I'll ship as soon as I receive them. I emailed again another week later (now 2 1/2 weeks after the order was placed) and the response was they will ship out today. So hopefully (Lord willing) I might recieve these this week or maybe even early next week if he used a slow service like USPS, I don't know. So 3 to 3 1/2 weeks from the time I placed the order. Not outrageous, but definetly deserved some communication on their part and not me having to prod and ask for info about my order.
So my rant boils down to:
1. I expect a supplier to keep some low number stock on ever item he advertises for sale. After all I only ordered two bushings.
2. I understand backorders do sometimes still happen, but PLEASE let the customer know what is happening.
3. I will probably still order again from this company. I would assume (until proven otherwise) that things like tabs and brackets they would actually make themselves and not have to rely on another supplier, therefore shipments I would expect to be much much faster.
Just wanted to share.
