Is the rear D/S on a 99 TJ auto the same as a rear D/S on an 03 TJ auto? Both have a 6. Thanks for the help.

Yes, they both use the NP231, which is what the D/S connects to. The only difference in driveshafts would be that of a TJ, and the TJ rubicon, as the rubi used a 242 Tcase which has a slip yoke eliminator. The short answer to your question is yes.

also the axle makes a difference a d35 pumkin is shorter then a d44

Thanks guys, The donor TJ has the 35 in it, so , all is good.

There could be a difference in the length of the drive train. Probably not enough to worry with though.

the extra length is taken up by the slip yoke IIRC.
