The 4X4Grace Second Annual Toys for Tots event will be held on the Saturday the 6th of December, so mark your calendars.
Exact times will be published later, but we'll most likely be at Toys R Us from 1100 to 1300, then head up to Gray. We will not have any formal event after we depart Gray, although some folks may wish to go grab something to eat in informal groups.
The Marines will be onsite at Toys R Us and Chase Estep (YJmudder) is handling the activities from that side. Here's a link to the website that Chase has gotten set up.
http://www.toysfortotseasttn.org/
4X4Grace is on the list of sponsors.

Let's plan on making this an even bigger & better event than last year. Thank you all.

I will be there this year (this is on a saturday right?) Is Toys r Us going to do the gift match this year like last year? If so, I will see if I can get out a center wide email on a date sooner to the event to let everyone at AT&T know about this (800+ employees), so that we can get some more "bang for our buck"..or in this case, toys for our tots.

Talked to Lisa down at Toys R Us - looks like they'll match purchases at their store again this year.
Chase, I told her you folks would be there, too.
She is thrilled to have Dec 6th set aside for us.
We'll fine tune the times, etc as we get closer to Dec 6th.

Stopped by TRU yesterday and talked with their coordinator. Everything is set - same parking format as last year. I will give them a rough vehicle count a week or so before the event, and we'll finalize times, etc.
They are doing the $$$ match, too.
How's things on your end, Chase?

Everything is going good here I suppose. They moved the drill up to the weekend after the 6th but we will have the active duty Marines here to help out.

If we were to collect some cash donations who should the check be made payable to.

They can make them out to "Toys for Tots" and my Gunny can stamp the check.

I would like to join in as well if possible. According to my work schedule, im off this weekend, so i will try to make it. What all is needed and how do we go about this? Just buy a present for someone? Im a little foggy on the details.

Grace membership will gather at TRU around 11:00 on Dec 6th. I will be there early and stay for the entire time - other folks stop by and drop off/purchase a gift then might leave or convoy - or stay for the entire time, too. No hard-fast rules. Whatever works for you. We will stay for a couple hours, then convoy to the facility in Gray. We greet shoppers, mingle, witness, socialize. We highly encourage the Grace members to buy their T4T gift from TRU, because they match donate, however, some folks will bring other gifts along to drop off in Gray. Last year, IIRC, we had somewhere around 20 rigs.
Here's a couple pics from last year.

OK gang - the time at T4T's will be 1100 to 1300, then we will convoy to Gray to drop off the toys collected.
Rain or shine - we'll be there, so come on out - for a short time or the entire time - convoy with us or not - whatever fits.

Had a great time and it was really good to see everyone. Dean and I had to turn around at the top of Bays Mountain (I-26) because of a big pile-up on the north side...it was like kids piling up on a slide. The roads are pretty rough over here.
Also a big thanks to Gordon for getting all this organized I think we had about 40 from Grace there.

Ah, not me - its the Lord's work - and I have the privilege to help Him get it done.
Great time, great fellowship, some new faces - and even some snow instead of rain. I had a blessed time.
And, Bev only bonked her head once getting into the XJ. :icon_mrgreen: She had a great time, too.
Thanks to all for helping the kids!

sorry I couldnt make it guys, I didnt trust lacy driving the beetle home so I tried to take her jeep to her only to run out of gas...no one would dtop so I walked about 6 miles home to get a gas can and the rover. on my way back out 3 cars were stuck in the ditch and the hill over thr RR tracks so I pulled em up the hill only to spin the bold off the holds the E-brake cylinder on the rover. for the non rover ppl this is the cylinder that holds the rear D/S to the T-case. so there i was D/S hangin from the rear axle elaving me with only FWD and a car straped to me. wow what a day got everything fixed but man I was HOT yesterday

A big "Thumbs up" to 4x4Grace for co-sponsoring the Toys 4 Tots. It was good to see all the support there to help out so many kids in need. Plus, I was able to see some of the 4x4's from the website. I even ran into a high school classmate (TiredIronGRB), which was a good suprise as well.

Any news on how much was raised or how much the Toys-R-Us match was compared to past events? With the turn out, I would think it would be pretty good. While my wife and I were in the store, we couldn't help but notice all the folks with 4x4Grace shirts, hats, sweatshirts...
