ok everyone.. i am new to the site and want to get on a trail ride.. i come home from iraq around mid october but dont get to come home on tn until dec. 19.. i would love to take a day and take the wife out and go trail riding but the only trail that i know in tri cities is hurricane gap up by paint creek.. so if anyone wants to do one around dec 20- jan 1 please let me know.. i want to be able to meet and hang out with me all yall

Absolutely - we certainly can. When it gets close to you getting home, we will figure out a location. How hard do you want to wheel & how aggressive is your rig?

Hurricane Gap is a 2wd trail, mostly gravel - but it does have an AWESOME view from the fire tower. Horse Creek is just a few miles from there, a little harder trail and gorgeous views. If you're up for a little challenge, we can head 30-35 minutes up hwy 107 to Bumpus Cove. :kewl:

One thing we need to keep in mind though is that the USFS may have some trails closed by that time of year. If so, we do have alternatives - and I highly recommend Harlan, KY. If you do want to try it, you can meet me in Bulls Gap and I can show you the straightest, easiest way to get there (US hwy 25E to KY hwy 119). ;)


Btw, here is a pic from the last time I was at the Hurricane Gap fire tower. The view is looking toward Hot Springs, NC. After cropping the top & bottom edges, I made it the wallpaper on my computer:

right now my yj is stock.. i get home in october and i am doing a soa and locking and gearing the axles so i am hoping to be pretty capable(hoping).. lol.. but yeah i can meet wherever i just need to make sure i take the one extra day of leave that way i have time..
