Lots of great fellowship and plenty of fun.

Rockgarden, hills, dirt piles, and a creek.

Friday evening with cooking over the campfire. Plenty of room for those who want to camp.

Event will start around 5:00 pm with cooking starting at 6:00 pm

If you are coming, even if tentative - include how many, and what you might be able to bring.

There will be a separate thread started for Saturday wheeling.

Directions
Take I-26 north, go all the way to the end (Lynn Garden Drive Exit). Turn left at the bottom of the ramp, go 100 yards to the light, turn left on Carter Valley Road (TN346), then go 2 miles, on the left behind the brick ranch with the huge white two story garage.

OK - got a food list going, so please sound off about what you can help out with.

George, could you check to see if there are napkins, etc still left over??

If anyone has a great secret recipe that they'd like to bring, just post up and I'll add it in.

I will keep moving the food list forward as it is updated.

I can get the tater salad, some drinks, and the burger buns.

I just put ya down for tater salad - last time we had quite a few folks who wanted to bring something, and we'd filled up the list. If we get running short near the event, I'll cry out for help. :icon_mrgreen: Thanks for offering.

How many do we need to bring Gordon?
I am really looking forward to this M&G as my wife doesn't often participate in the off-road environment. She loves to camp, it's the bouncing around the trails she can do without. What is the weather usually like in Oct.?

BOD, there will be a trail ride on Saturday right??
Probably 2 or 3 of them ;)
What is the weather usually like in Oct.?
John - that's like predicting what the NYSE volume will be 10yrs from now. :icon_lol: At the Oct '07 M&G, the weather was a balmy 60-65 degrees. At the Oct '06 M&G, we had icicles on our noses when we woke up - 35 degrees. 20yrs ago, you could hang meat outside around here in Oct - and it wouldn't spoil all season long.

If anybody feels like they need to bring something else we are planning on providing some lunch fixins for the ride at chinquapin on sat. There are expected to be about 70-80 people there. Simple stuff like chips/cookies/drinks/cups and paper towels would be good. Hotdogs and buns would work as well.

Bluegill
10-10-2008, 02:21 AM
I should be there at 5 with my daughter - Jules & little man will be up when she gets off work.

IF I can get the FSJ buttoned up I will drive it - if not I will be in the TJ. Gotta jump on it as soon as I get home - still need to finish grinding the frame horn, bevel the plate, test fit the gearbox, weld the plate on, paint it & bolt everything back up. I believe it can be done, I SO want to get it on the ramp - since the last few mods it should be able to go farther than this:

OK, gang - this is the last update. See yall tomorrow evening!!!

Use best judgment on quantities. Where two people are sharing an item, each bring enough for half the crowd.

Rough headcount right now looks like about 95 or so.

Looks like we're in good shape for all menu items. Anyone wants to bring something else, go right ahead.

If someone would like to help Dean out with Burgers, that'd be great - contact him directly.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him that is alone when he falleth for he hath not another to help him up.

I had a great time at the M&G. I would have stayed longer, but I had to get kids to bed for football games Sat morning. (By the way, our team won so I have another week of practice and a game. Woo Hoo.)
Bethany has one request. She thinks she left a Barbie doll at the M&G that was dressed in ballet leotard and tights. I have told her that she should have made sure to put it up in the van when she was done or not to have gotten it out in the first place. If anyone happened to see and pick up her Barbie though, please let Bluegill or I know.
Thanks again for the fun and fellowship!

And it's always wonderful to see old friends too. :kewl: A big thank you to all who contributed to this event - you know who you are! ;)
