My dad went in today for Corneal Transplant Surgery on one eye today. He seems to have done well.
They will be going back tomorrow to get patch taken off. My dad is hopefully going to be able to see better now in the one eye.
He has a defect in his eyes that causes damage to the inside of the eye.
He was still able to see enough to do his job, drive, etc, but his eyesight was definitely a problem.
I thank the family of the individual who donated the eye.
Please remember him as he recovers from this surgery as he HATES being bored.
I pray he remembers that he is not to be out mowing and overdoing it.

I had this surgery about 25 years ago and have no problems with the transplant. It is a great gift from the family that donated the tissue and from the LORD that gives the surgeon the gifts to perform surgery. Just encourage him too follow the doctors instructions (very important) and he should have no problems. I am sure the process has improved greatly since mine was done. Prayers gone up.

Thank you for the prayers. Dad went back today to get his patch off. It's cloudy due to the air put into the eye during surgery, but the doctor said it looks good.

I am very thankful that the nurse got the eyelash out of the corner of his eye though before he tried to do it himself. Mom kept telling him she didn't see anything, that it was probably just the stitches. :eusa_think:

Now comes the tough part of following the doctor's instructions and not being too active. My dad is not known for sitting around, but I know with the Lord's help, he will remember to behave.

Again, thanks for the prayers. It turned out well and we are believing for wonderful results. :kewl:

Mom said Dad's eye was clearing up some and he has been good.
