Let's meet around lunchtime. I need to be back home around 5. Maybe we'll eat before wheeling, something cheap.

Sounds good. Meet at the Maple Grove at noon?
What exit is that off I26? I know you get off the exit, turn left, and it's on the right.

Put me down, the tires are sort of bald but I have my power tire on the driver's front so I can go anywhere. Tony call me and remind me Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th. I am getting old and will probably sleep before then.

I actually think that i may be able to make this one. i am pretty stoked. i am still yet to take my jeep on even the most stock trail run yet.
question; please forgive my ignorance... if we meet around twelve, approximately what time will we finish?
I can be considered a strong maybe:icon_lol:

Adurbin can probably answer the time question the best. I think the entire trail ride should only take 2-3 hours. So, we should be back on the main roads by 4.

There is a new trail up there that I want to check out, but yes the entire trail ride should only take 4 hours. Calculate for being done at 6 though, given that the last few rides have went way longer.

Rob, you'll want to come up 107, past Horse Creek, then turn right at the BP, go past Bumpus and go to Erwin. Then get on the I26 towards the west, get off on exit 32, and the Maple Grove is right there off the exit.

And if I didn't have front axle shaft joint issues, AMSting didn't have front driveshaft u-joint issues, and most importantly, a daughter driving home from IL (by herself for the first time) we would be there.

well, it looks like i am out for this saturday (i know... suprise, suprise).
my dog is sick and we do not know what is wrong with him. i took him to the dr (youngs animal clinic) yesterday and they drew blood. the first test came back normal without any significant results. they sent out another test that i am awaiting the results of today. saturday (instead of wheeling) i will spend the day collecting his urine in a sample cup to take to the dr so we can hopefully figure out what is going on with him.
i hope you all have a good trip.

Sorry you cant make it. We used to take our animals to Colonial Heights animal hospital, and now since buying our home use Pinecrest. The head vet there doctored service dogs for the military, and law enforcement. Weve had nothing but good luck out of them.

thanks for caring; i really do appreciate your concern.
they (the animal hospital) were wanting us to get three samples today (they are looking for a specific growth). the problem with that is that my dog usually only goes about twice a day. so, right now i am at 1 down and 2 to go. they said that we should be able to get the results of the test by tuesday at the latest.
my wife had to be gone for a while today to do some things for her work. i cannot stand the thought of something happening to my dog, or him passing away without me being with him.
again, i hope that you all have a good time.

i use to go to that same clinic. when my wife and i first moved back here from FL, we lived with her parents in colonial heights. we would take bentley and emma there to get their nails trimmed. we only went there for about two months though b/c we soon moved east to JC. youngs is expensive but i feel that they do a good job. they really seem to care. i have also heard that the animal hospital on cherokee road does a really job though i have never been there.
thanks for your concern and i hope that you all have a great trip.

we made it home safe
i think i figured out whats wrong with the tracker it ran fine after we left you all
went to advance and got a gas cap it did great
pulled in on the motor mile to admire the new Rubicon's
it died and would not start back
after about 20 minute's i pushed it down to wear the new dodge trucks are
it fired up and we rushed home
never would idle again
it died as we turned in the driveway so i coasted it to the house
i think its allergic to jeeps:tongue3:

Nah - it did fine when a certain red Jeep was slinging mud all around it during the KYMC elk ride. ;) Glad you two made it home safe. I hate that Matt's YJ threw a rod too, it must've hydrolocked pretty bad. We stuck around for a little while after everyone left, the kids wanted to play in the creek. My daughter now calls that "flower creek" instead of Dick Creek - I never saw that many laurel blooms this late in the season.
We had a good time, it was great meeting & wheeling with everyone! :icon_biggrin:
EDIT: by the way, they haven't started selling on the website yet, but these are the guys I bought my t-shirt from if anyone is interested: www.americanwheeler.com

Glad you guys had fun. I was afraid that you all would be disapointed, those of you that drove a long way. Dick Creek is nothing challenging, but a nice ride through the woods. Sorry Matt about your motor.....its because you have square headlights.

Kevin and I got Matt all loaded up on his trailer, and sent him back home. He is pretty much convinced to do a homebrew high line, low center of gravity setup, with 33's or bigger. Obviously, he needs to replace his broken connecting link.
All in all it was still a great day in the woods. True to it's history, the "easy" Dick Creek Falls trail claimed another couple of victims. Let's remember next time, that this has consistently been a "hard" trail!

i could blow air straight through it one time
then the next it was solid as a rock
i pulled a gallon of gas out of the tank

Well after they helped me get loaded up I headed home only to have the tire that was low on the trailer self destruct.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2008-2/1300310/tire.jpg
Luckily I have another trailer that has the same type of tire (mobile home axles and tires). I called my father-in-law and he took one off and brought it to me.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2008-2/1300310/07-12-08_1904.jpg
I did have a neat experience while I sat in the parking lot of Wiseman's clothing waiting for the tire. I saw a pickup with the same paint scheme as mine drive by. I was hoping they would drive back by and low and behold her it come a few minutes later. the guy stopped and we shot the bull for a bit. Mine is on the left his on the right.

It was pretty cool. Even weirder was that they are both 2 owner. My dad bought mine new then I bought it. The other kid's dad bought his new and eh bought it from him.
Another note I thought I had finally got a tan or even just a little color when I took my muddy shoes and socks off and hopped in the shower. Nope my cool tan washed off in the shower. I am going to start marketing a new line of sunscreen. I get a sunburn even wearing 50+ SPF. Today I was out all day in the sun in shorts and didn't even get a tan.
The new line of sunscreen will be called Stinky Mud 5000+SPF. I even know a good place to go and get it. As long as I stop at the edge to collect it instead of the drive in collection I did today.
