Marty if your looking for low end torgue, stroke it to a 383 when you do the build.

I have a 5.7L out of a 99 tahoe that I have in the engine shop as we speak. All I am doing to it is putting a Comp Cam and new valve springs and rockers and the numbers on the Comp cam software but the rear wheel numbers to roughly 370ph (4300rpm) and 509 ft/lbs (2800rpm). So I chose to do this instead of stroking it. Now, I may go back later and stroke it but I would think that these numbers will really make my jeep stand tall if I need it to.

Almost a year later and I'm halfway there. :icon_mrgreen:

I just ran across this old post while I was doing some searching, thought I'd drag it back from the dead. :icon_lol:
