If you don't have the $$$ for four wheeling steering, twin sticks are handy - say for example you're trying to negotiate a tight turn. Your front end will barely clear between two trees in front of you but the angle you're at means the rear of your rig will rub one tree hard. Disengage the front axle, stomp the skinny, and let your rear tires spin the rear of your rig to a straighter angle for the body to clear between the trees. Works vice-versa too (swing just the front end around by spinning in front wheel drive).
Then there are the advantages when you break an axle part also.

205 twin stick fairly simple also, pull the plugs at the shift rails, remove the set screws holding the shift forks to the rails, pull the rails, grind the interlock grooves and reinstall the rails. OR you can buy a kit.

Yes, if you twin stick the 205 you will have the option of running either, front only, rear only or both. It is really helpful when you need to do a front dig to either get around something, clean out the tires, get yourself straight on a steep incline. Twin sticks are worth their weight IMO. Mine is actually tripple sticked.

I have a twin sticked 205. I really didn't believe in them until i saw a guy at Tellico using them, and he knew what he was doing. It was unbelievable
to see what he could do with the twin sticks. So I done mine, I love it.
The 205 shifts the best shifting of any transfercase in my opinion. You can run front low, front high, rear low, rear high, 4 low, 4 high. I'm in the process of removing my th400/205 and i'm replacing it with 700r4/231/flipped300.
But you can bet, the 300 will have twin sticks. I recommend getting the sticks from jb conversions.

Pitch, Which transfercases did you use to do the doubler?
