I really like the can do attitude but without major hacking. The Ifs, abs, fusebox, and battery are not going to be in the way This is what I will be working with

hmm I would like to see this build. I like the looks of the H3 over the H2. and wish they had better options for it. Looks like they are starting to put bigger engines in them.

So how did you get a body for one? And do you have more pictures of it.

Yeap thats it. i have been talking to this guy about it. I was thinking of putting 1 tons and 4bt engine. Do not know what tranny or transfercase. But basically a wiring harness set up the way I want it. I just do not know. it is cool that it is striped down unused with non other mess of newer vehicles ready to be built up, but I fear getting some of the simpleinterior trim and other replacement parts with be hard to get. Just a thought

Sorry about the large photo. I did not know how to resize someone else photo. :P

I'm pretty sure you can run a TH400 behind the 4BT.

well the cool thing about h3 they are the only hummer that is set up for manual or auto transmission as far as the holes and brackets for clutch pedals and shifters are concern.

I saw a video of a buggy with a 4bt and it was a real dog. Just didn't have enough umph. Ask George and Ben about it.

Yep, you'd definitely want a more powerful motor (for wheeling or towing) than a 4BT

I have to agree with this 100%. Of course I like the H3 a lot no matter. ;)

Doing a total build is ton of work. Much more than just fixing wiring, you have to wire the whole thing. You'd have to buy, snesors, gauges, seats etc. All that can add up dollar wise quickly. It can all be done you will need careful planning. I'd plan on at least a year for this kind of project, maybe more depending on your work schedule.

Also are you planning on registering it? If so make sure you get the title.

I think it was Bully dog that "shoe-horned" a Duramax into the H3 last year.

Well I was thinking about all of these issues you have mention. Luckily If I did it I do not have to worry about sensors because I would be running a simple engine tranny set up. But what makes that part so cool is I can put it anywhere. i would not have ABS airbags or any of that mess. I would probalby put the entire fuse box and wiring hub in the passengers airbag slot. It would be alot of work but at the same time starting with a blank slate you can do about anything.

Registration would be the tuff part. There is no vin number I might could claim k5 Blazer if I just drop the body on the Blazer, but I am not doing that. i would more likely have to registar it as a kitcar. I really do nto have the time and the space to do it so I am almost scraping that idea.

I had to drive my blazer to work with the bad weather we had and it was awesome. It took everything like a champ. A little more work on it and I think it will be a nice vehicle to drive around so I am probably going that route. Thanks for the input, and it would be awesome to build one.

It would really be cool to take an H3 and put Ford running gear in it.
