custom roof rack

anybody know specs to make a roof rack or advvice when making one
better yet any1 selling one

What do you plan to carry on it - occasional travel stuff or spare tire, hi-lift, etc?

If it's mainly light duty, I'd hit a bone yard for a factory style. Otherwise fab up a basket style.

We have so many low hanging trees around here, most everyone tries to keep minimal stuff on the roof. Big lights are tree grabbers.

well i want mount a few lights but also a spare

Just my .02 but we'll never mount another tire up high,1 center of gravity is really affected.
But biggest issue is when you need that 100+pound tire off the top of your truck it will be hot,cold raining snowing or you'll be so tired you won't want to pull it off,not to mention the possible body(truck or you) damage from it falling :shock:

I agree. I had a lifted tahoe and 35" tire on top. It was up there for awhile then I had to get it down for some reason and it never went back up :grin: it went inside in the rear cargo area. :P
