The only thing that worries me about the big tanks is putting a full one in the buggy.. That thing will probably be heavy.
Thanks Greenrover i will give them a call.

WC Forklifts in Piney Flats, right before you get to the race track, sells them. They take them off leased lifts that they refurbish. You can buy them for around $50, they will negoitate if you buy several of them.

I've seen these but I'm concerned since it seems most people don't run those tanks but instead run forklift tanks. I'm guessing it has something to do with the design?

they are not the same and will not work like they need to in a vehichle application. the BBQ style tanks release gas form and the fork style release a liquid(what you need) form of LP. hope this helps

correct me if i am wrong but...isnt the difference between the tanks having a siphon tube so as to be able to pick up liquid? and if this is the case, cant you merely mount you bottles upside down thus tapping into the liquid? and even if i did have DOT approved bottles...ive got wide set rockwells with pinion brakes  . (dont want to sound like a smarty pants)

I'm pretty sure your right on running them upside down. I saw a buggy in a video today with 20lb tanks upside down and it was fine.

again...not trying to be smart, but i am needing a tank for my new grill anyhow, so i will be trying the northern tank since MOST of us are not made of money, and looking for less expensive options so our money can be spent in other places. and when i do try it, i will find this thread so i can pass it on. 8)

they will run but you will notice a considerable difference froma gril style to a vehichle style tank. never said anyone was made of money. just spend your money wisely and on parts you know will work for you!!!
whe n you have to buy another tank you have now spent more than you would have had to if you bought the right stuff the first time
