Well I just saw a 3 month old pup for sale. They wanted $1200 or more for it. They are not the best dog for being out in the heat in summer. Breathing issues. Plus you have to pick them up to put em in all the time. ;) But the cheapest you will find one will be around $800.

Yeah they are very expensive. I love them though. They are our (Marines) mascot. They do have a lot of breathing problems and such. I found one out of KY for $1,000 to include them flying the bulldog to me which I thought was pretty good. So when you all get to meet me in person I might have a new family member! I just need a name now... I want a male.

They are great dogs, and as was said above, they do have issues with heat and MUST be kept inside. They have another issue that you may want to consider if you plan to keep one inside your home... They are big dogs and tend to... shall we say.... regularly emit odiferous gasses. It is nice to have a scapegoat though

What do you all thing about "Gunner"? A Gunner in the Marine Corps is a CWO that has a "cluster" bomb on the left side of his cami blouse where the rank would be and on the other side he has his rank. Gunners are the most elite CWO's in the Infantry field.

Yeah but "Sarge" is a Army term that they call their Sergeants. If it weren't for that I would be all about it.

So what are the equivalent in the Corps called? Gunny?
XJmudder
12-22-2007, 06:01 AM
Well in the Marine Corps a Sergeant is called a Sergeant, a Staff Sergeant is a Staff Sergeant and a Gunnery Sergeant is either a Gunnery Sergeant or a "Gunny". Next you have Master Sergeant called Master Sergeant or "top" then its on to 1st Sergeant then Sgt Major. I like Gunny dont get me wrong, I just want to see how creative this can get.

Kitty.
That way when you call it you'll say "Here Kitty Kitty Kitty" and a big dog will come running around the corner. At least that is what I'll do if I ever get a dog.

My pit responds too kitty for some odd reason.
It will respond too its name "Chesnee" and and when you call it kitty it will come. But if you say here dog. Or anything besides those two it will ignore you.

I know of a breeder, lives over on Bowmantown Rd in Jonesborough. I work with his grandson. I'm not sure they have any pups available but I can hook you guys up if you'd like.
