Anybody else? I REALLY want to get out and ride. I'm thinking about Dennis Cove, since it's mainly an easy trail ride, with nice scenery.

Ok, it's Wednesday and I relly need to get this figured out. If there's no interest, then I'm gonna cancel. I know that some trails are closed, and haven't been to any that are not, except for the cove. I'd prefer to ride Bays, but we all know that it's off limits.......options are limited.

Ken, I haven't totally nailed down Sunday/Monday yet, but what about joining that ride? My son is coming in on Sat so I'm staying close to the house (no wheeling).

Yep. I can't stand not knowing what is up through there. I went up through there about a mile and turned around, mainly because there was a tree down in front of me and I didn't have any thing to get it out of the way. I'd like to go up to the falls and from there it looks like we would have to turn around and go back the way we came. The trail at the end (trail going north that connects to 53582) is a shared use trail but I believe it it is closed to motorized vehicles. Hopefully Gordon will read this post and correct me if I am wrong.

That might be a possibility. You live close to me, so I could follow you there.....keep in mind my top speed is only around 55....60 going downhill with a tailwind. 8)

Richard, you are correct. Trail 307 is 4WD, both on this map and on the FS one. The "27" on the map is actually the "red dashed line" multi use (non 4WD) that ties 307 to 53582.

307 has two small offshoot trails, 307A, which is along Turkey Trail Branch; and 307B, which hooks back up at the end of 307. These don't show on the Nat'l Geo map that I posted, but do show on the FS one. I'll try to post that up some time later today on the trails thread.

Now, the $100 question - what time ya all thinking of doing this? I can't stand it either, and if I can get the house preps done, and would be back to be home when Ryan and Tara arrive, I might could sneak out and join you. I'm a "weak maybe" right now, but I'd love to check it out, too. I'm thinking I'd have to be back home absolutely no later than 2:00 pm.

I can go anytime you want. I don't know a good meeting place in Erwin but it looks like the best exit to get off coming from Johnson City on I26 is exit 32. What's around that exit?

The best place to meet would be just off exit 32 (old exit 23) at the Maple Grove Restaurant. It is on the right, just after you exit, going into Unicoi. There's a big chicken sitting on a trailer in front of Maple Grove.

After you leave Maple Grove, go over the railroad bridge, turn right, go thru Unicoi, and make a left at Jones Hdwr onto 173 to Limestone Cove/Buladean.

She works at Ritz Camera in the new kingsport shopping center (old kingsport mall) dont know how long it will take to get there from there but im guessing an hour just to be safe

Guys, I am out too. Bev and I have just too much to do before the kids get here. They called today and will be arriving around 1:00 or 2:00.

This is killing me, too - I really want to do that trail. The good thing is that it is not on the closure list, so it is open all winter - maybe hit it after a nice snowfall, too.

yea ill have it back to my shop and torn apart after Christmas and get the parts to start rollin in should be up and ready ba the first of the year
