I don't how often you guys plan far out for rides but heres a thought. I went to WindRock last year and Bill was there, this was an IAJ thing and we barely scratched the surface of the place.

I want to go back and check it out again (especially built a little more) I am "out of town" visiting with my Uncle "Sam" untill summer so who would be interested in beginning the preliminary planning for a Joint 4x4Grace, IAJ, and I will get whoever I can from a local club in Clarksville. I figure as big as the place is we should be able to cater to alot of rigs, and you guys are a little more so local to the area and can show us around. We can even plan on the other place there Royal Blue? I think. I know IAJ has a few guys that will run Rattle Rock (Andy, Tony, and Kenny) if they come and I am sure there are some on here that'll run it too so there will be plenty of entertainment right there.

I was disappointed last time I ran it in part because I broke day 1, but day 2 I was back and we really didn't run anything worth much. I know theres good stuff there and wanna see it

 Guess Bill was the only Grace/IAJ member you wheeled Windrock with, eh? I learned one thing other than the trails, don't eat Big Ed's pizza before wheeling! It is awesome pizza, just doesn't have good after-effects from all the bouncing around. Oh, and they don't take plastic there either.

I'm up for either, just need plenty of notice for the vacation request. Windrock will always be congested with ATV traffic. Royal Blue has more trails, and is more like raw wilderness (chainsaw & axe are highly recommended) - it has something for everyone. Monster mudholes, boulders bigger than my FSJ, sand, steep hill climbs, etc.

Either of these 2 areas requires $$$ for a riding permit. With Royal Blue your money goes to the state gov't (TWRA), with Windrock the money mostly goes to the Coal Creek Mining Co. (landowner), and a small portion to the Windrock ATV club (for trail maintenance).

Hotels ain't cheap, so camping would probably be in order. Windrock won't allow any camping on their property - but there are campgrounds outside the gates. You can camp almost anywhere you like inside Royal Blue, and it doesn't cost any extra $$$ (the daily land use permits are good for 24hrs).

You can camp in Windrock's lower parking area. It is $15/day/person. Never rode Royal Blue and Windrock has some new trails open that weren't available any time I was there. As for the money for Windrock, I am pretty sure all that money goes straight back into trail maint. and not to CCMC. I may be up for it though.

I've been to Royal Blue (before they charged), but I've never been to Windrock. I'm up for either, if I have a way to get the Zuki there.

I may go down to see if there is anything worth riding since there has been a lot of work going on with the gas company down there. Anyone want to go with. About 2.5 hours from here.

From what I hear the only good truck trails left are Rail Trail and Rattlerock.

Rail Trail is the new one opened up I think. Not sure what kind of shape 39 is in now.

Lemme know when! Only 1.5hrs from my house.

I need to go check out Royal Blue too, since the state let one of the old mines reopen in the western section. More RB info:

Here's some good pictures from the eastern section of Royal Blue, mainly from the spot called "the playground":

I haven't rode that side yet, but I did ride the western & southern sections. And that's where the monster mudholes are. Only got a few pics because I didn't have a passenger with me to take pics.

I'm guessing that waterfall is off-limits? If so too bad, I could have some fun there...

Sorry about the pic size Vince - I forgot that I saved them before knowing that they should be 640x480.

Ben, that waterfall is in the middle of trail 16, we had to walk about 75 feet from the trail to get to it.
