day 2

first i think ill paint it. and put in one rocker panel
should i go grey Base clear) to match the blazer i love charcole grey
back to the origanal white single stage paint to get buy cheaper
or silver ill be spraying the door jams and interior metal eather way?
how can i tell witch 4 speed this truck has it is a bull dog for sure but the
truck origanally had an auto?
next step will be to pull my 406 (frum the blazer) lower the compression a little and put it in the ton truck
lots of tow power
then put the 350 frum the ton in the blazer its a sweet little moter will be more than the blazer needs
the 406 is way to much for offroad use
so what do you all think of the terrible ton?

Sounds like a great plan, Marty.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with a basecoat/clearcoat. Just an acrylic enamal with hardener - less expensive. Charcoal would look nice.
The 350 in the Blazer, with a little less cam than the 406, might work easier on the trails, too, where you may need low rpm.

The trans will be a SM465,and you will benefit more from a doubler than a big motor in the Blazer.Although I like a big motor too.

thanks i thought it was a sm465 but dident know for sure wear it use to be an auto allways good to ask the pros
the doubler is in my plans for the blazer and more flex in the suspension
when i get my parts list together ill holler and se eif you have any of the stuff i need for it

the cam is not really that big in the 406 just a performer rpm she will run pretty low rpm
its the 350 rods and 2v flat tops
that make it so raticall going to put the 400 rods back in it that will lower the pistons in the cylinder
drop frum 12.5/13 to one to 10/9.5 range should be a tork monster
and put my 750 elderblock 1407 on it great street carb should pull well
ive had a hard time desiding white would be so easy but im going to make a nice truck out of it and white would look like a commercial truck kind of plane
thanks for the input

I like it. Good idea with the motors. Although the 406 would be fun to drive off road. About the flexy suspension I have full length spring liner I got from Deaver Spring in CO. You have to take your packs apart and cut hte liner to length. It really works well.

ill hafe to try the spring liners and get some longer shocks im out of travel in the rear now only a 1 1/2 left up frunt might do a shackel flip in the rear too ill hafe to start a post on the blazer when i get ready for it that 406 is a blast at the red lights relly puts a hurtin on the rice rockets  but i never intended to leave that moter in it this long it had been sitting in my shop 6 years it just needed some time in the saddle

I had a warmed 350 in a '72 dumptruck that could smoke the tires. People hated that.
