I'm going to build a trailer to do offroad cleanups with. The primary purpose will be to drag junk vehicles on the trailer and then haul it out. Most of the time all that's left is a stripped carcus, so it doesn't need to be heavy duty. I think it needs 33's and just one axle with maybe a lift block. I've got some pipe I can use for framework. I also have a D35 jeep rear axle. I need some jeep wheels with 33" tires and I'd prefer a pintle hitch. Ideals and thoughts are welcome.

You may need to do more than a pinnle hitch. There is a design for an offroad hitch that will articulate great without releasing.

We are going to be doing this next week. The plan is to use pipe for a floor. We are also going to make it hinge in the middle so it will be easier to drag junk onto.

can you through up a picture or drawing of what its gonna look like?

Would a dana 35 be a strong enough axle?

This style is used "Down Under" on most of the trailers and stands up well I have heard.

I don't have a drawing yet. I do have a boat trailer though.

Most of the junk on the trails should weigh less than 2500lbs and I think that axle will hold up to that.

yeah I think so, plus teh axle is easily replaced if it doesn't and your right the weight will be alot lighter and your not using the axle to drive so.... :thumbright:

Well we got it 90% done. It has a D35 jeep rear axle, yota springs, and removable hitch. We still need some plywood for decking and lights and wiring. I'll post some pics soon.

I also have a small torch setup for cutting junk into movable pieces.
