Well, looks like Harlan kinda fizzled for the 25th, so I am gonna wheel somewhere this Saturday. I haven't been to Paint since last year, so I might like to explore that direction - not too handy for the more northern guys, though.
I can't do the later stuff - evenings, I'd like to hit a trail around 10:00 or 10:30, but, am open -
Post up some thoughts and let's see what we can put together.

I get off work at 830 in the morning and something around 10- 1030 would be better for me. I know Ken was wanting to hit up Little Stoney before the big ride, Im gain for that one. Or if Bays again. I'll do it too.

c'mon Rob.....I have to get to Elizabethton too. I'm gonna take a back way, and you could follow me. It will take longer, but that's only coming back. The way there wouldn't be bad, as the race fans will still be passed out drunk, and not moving around yet.

Ok SO stoney it is..... I think for at least half the people, it would be closer anyways. How about meeting at Kroger or Food City ( I can't remember which one it is) at say 10:30 am. hey Aaron see if any of the Tricities Crawlers want to join in..... Also We'll need a trail leader. Sad to say I don't know the trail yet. If none of us do then we can still go based on directions.

Really shouldn't need a trail guide for Stoney, just remember that when you come to the large fork - Dodge hill is to the right (hard), and Ford hill is to the left (easy/moderate). The last 20 yards of Dodge hill demands lockers (rear at a minimum), great tires, and lots of power combined with a heavy right foot. After that, Dodge runs back into the Ford trail.

left to right: blynryd, TiredIronGRB, SolarTJ, dino1967, sinkinitup, me, Gordon, redman_30_06, MarkH, sams_pf, Simo, and I can't make out who the last 3 are. Hilla-Go-Rilla, Monstero, ring3l78, 88yotapickup, bluecrawler, and TedsOffroad were already at the trail when this pic was snapped. Several members rode shotgun too, like GubNi, Deanerica, andy1, MyBeau99, and a couple others.
It was a great ride! ;-)

I'm going to try to make this. I need to change my power steering first, as it got hot on Bumpus and now its squeeking bad. I just need to find the time. My wife will be joining me if I get it done.

Yup, been there. When I was there during that last ride, I still had the 3-1/2" lift and nearly bald 31's - and there was a bit of snow topside. As of right now, I'm pretty sure I'll be there. Will confirm tomorrow evening.

Unfortunately I am out for the ride. Besides not having time to replace the p/s pump, I forgot about an obligation for Saturday. I'll try to catch the next one.

Guys..........any chance we can make this an 11:30 run? Jenni has to work, and I can't get there until then. If not, then I'm out. Nick or Gordon call me at 423-534-5265 and let me know either way. Be in bed by midnight tonight and up by 8 tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Perfect. I need to take my cat, Sabrina, to the vet first thing, so 1130 at Food City, it is. Without the time bump, I was gonna have to cancel, so works out great for everyone.

Well, we had a great day today. Nick and his buddy, Jeff - Ken and his wife Jenni - and me. Hit the trail at about noonish, ran into a guy who drove a Kia Sportage in about a half mile or so - they were going swimming.
Nick successfully tried the first little play area on the right that has the small stairsteps. Otherwise, we stuck to the main trail. Everyone buzzed up Pinto with no problems.
We found what appears to be the remains of a Chevy Luv pushed over the bank just a bit below Pinto. Could be a recovery project. Not as bad as the Jeepster, and there are trees across from it that would support a snatch block. Should be pretty easy.
Nick and I walked up Dodge a ways, I tuckered out just below the old Dodge itself, but Nick ventured on up. On his way back, he discovered a destroyed Sami driveshaft sitting on the Dodge, so that nixed the idea of anyone trying Dodge today.
We made it up Ford with no problems, then cut to the left and headed up to the Hilton. There, we met a guy and his son. He had heard of Grace, and has been on our site. He was pleased to meet some Christian folks and may join up with us. He had previously wheeled a CJ and his son just got a Yota, which is what they were driving. We all had a nice visit, after which we headed on up to the towers, then on down to an open gate.
Here's a few pics.
Getting started at the trailhead.
