What a great day of wheeling. We had the biggest turn out of rigs yet on a ride up Bumpus.I think around 19  It was awesome. We basically started out in one group and ended up in about 2 or three by the time we got up to the lunch spot and the top of the trenches at the end of the day. It was an uneventfull day really. Slickrock was easily climbed cause it was so dry. The stair-steps were the part of the trail that claimed the only carnage of the day.

Samuriaguy broke a rear U-joint on the driveshaft on his attempt up, which wasnt too major of a deal. Then Hilla-go-Rilla attempted and ended up pinching and breaking off a plastic part on his fuel line. So he backed off and repaired his leak at the bottom of the trail and on we went up the trenches.

I was expecting more body damage in the trenches but they were so dry that your tires stuck the line that you put them on and didnt slide at all so everyone got around the roots without problems. All in all it was a good day and I had fun seeing a few new people there. Feel free to post up all your pics in this thread below.

Here are all my pics. I wish I could have gotten more of everyone but there were just TOO MANY of you.

I don't know about the

"no carnage"

and

"got around the roots with no problems part"

hahaha You must've left before my brand new front passenger tire ate a root and exploded out the sidewall. Ouch :angryfire:

It was sad to hear how everyone knew that the tires I bought had weak sidewalls :-/ Guess I should've done more homework when I was looking for tires and asked your all's opinion about those General Grabber AT2s.

On a positive note though, everything mechanical about my jeep was impressive. It was her maiden voyage after all the suspension work and transfer case / transmission problems and it did wonderful. I was amazed at how well she performed.

I counted 20 rigs before lunch we had one that had to leave after lunch Rdawson in the tan ruby. Great day!.

I had a set of those grabbers on my jeep when I first started. They do have weak side walls. I busted one at beach Mtn. in the mud.

Enjoyed seeing all. what a wonderful statement for the Ministry here!

well I know I had fun. Even if I had trail damage. I feel that the U-joint failure was caused by two things. One I didn't air down at all. and with that I had a rear lower shock mount rip off. (poor welding on my part) So I know what I need to work on. The trip was a blast.... and to make a small correction, we had 21 vehicles show up. By far the largest group I have ever wheeled with.

Just got in from supper and am too tired to upload pics and do a trail report - other than to say what a blessed day!! Lady Bumpus was at her most gracious today. Very little damage, wonderful fellowship, excellent weather - just a fantastic day. The Lord really blessed us.

We had a number of first time Bumpus folks - ya'all did great. We had some folks from Tri-Cities Crawlers with us, some of which have recently joined Grace, too.

It was good to see the out of state folks. The 454 YJ was pretty trick, and Flint, love that 308:1 crawl ratio.

I'll remember more and give a more detailed report tomorrow. Phil thanks for running point, and Shawn, thanks for all your efforts.

More tomorrow....................

Here's a few pics:

Looks like it was a great ride, wish I could've made it.

Byron, if you want some cheap tires that go great off road & are very durable, get some Dunlop mud rovers.

Without a doubt our biggest turnout. We've had a little over a dozen several times, but nothing like yesterdays numbers.

Her name is Andrea. (Don't worry, I called her Adrian once or twice when we first started dating  ) She is working to get the pics and videos uploaded today. She has to do it from work due to the poor connection we have at home. I asked her about it last night and she said she was too busy yesterday. I'll post as soon as she gets them up.

Still have it. Not getting rid of it.
I am just getting something else that I won't be worried about banging up or scratching up on the trail.
