Does anyone know why an air horn wouldnt work when it gets cold outside? It works fine when it warms up and the weather is nice. I have a dual hella air horn.

take the compressor out and throw some wd-40..i had a dixie horn for three years in my tj. it did the same it would either blow one or two hrons or would not compresse air but i took it off threw some wd-40 and it worked fine the rest of the winter.. also water or mud aint good for them.

I havent been muddin since I put it in there, what are you saying to do with the wd-40? Just spray it inside the compressor?

It could possibly be the valve freezing.

yes.. its something about it lubricates it to make it sound better and work more efficentially. just take it out and take off the hoses that connect to the horn and spray it in the holes. thats what i did and it fixed the problem. mine started doin it after about 3 months of having it and i did that right after and it worked for about 3 more years then i gave it to my uncle which it worked for him also.. i would thinkn it would freeze because wouldnt the heat from the engine fix that even if it did sit out over night?? mine was in a wrangler so the cold air was all over the place.

Well i just have a 20r, and even after i drive for half an hour it still doesnt work if it i 30 degrees outside. If i ever get the time to take it out, I wil try the wd-40.

i took it off threw some wd-40 and it worked

Did you spay the wd40 on it or throw it at it? Tapping the compressor with the can might help to knock loose some corrosion on the inside.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that.
