The few moments it takes to prepare may save the lives of you and/or your loved ones... Are you prepared?

72-hours is a minimum. Here is a helpful resource link (http://www.pdxprepared.net/72hour.php) to help you get prepared and help you review if you beleive you are already prepared.

3 Days 3 Ways to go (http://www.govlink.org/3days3ways/)
Welcome to 3 Days, 3 Ways, Are You Ready? (http://www.govlink.org/3days3ways/) a public motivation campaign urging you, your family, and the community to prepare for emergencies and disasters. 3 Days, 3 Ways is more than a campaign; it's a message relying on the participation and action steps each of us takes today.

The message is simple, be ready to survive on your own for a minimum of 3 Days following a disaster. For large disasters, you may not receive any government assistance for up to 7 Days.

Become prepared in 3 Ways ? make a plan, build a kit, and get involved. Any step we take today will put us in a greater position for resiliency, whether from a major earthquake, a winter storm, a terrorist act or a pandemic flu outbreak.

Great reply!

I use my seatbelts when I drive, have a checked/charged fire extinquisher at home, first aid kit with us... why not be prepared elsewise, too? My family and I live in a flood/earthquake/wild fire region. I try to live by that old Boy Scout motto "Be Prepared"...

Please take the time to be prepared... this sort of thing (http://www.emergencyemail.org/newsemergency/anmviewer.asp?a=216&z=1) is a little unnerving.
