I've been watching your build on IAJ. It's absolutely sick! :smokin: You are gonna bring it to Harlan in Oct. aren't you?
I'm slowly but surely gathering the parts for a similar build, but who knows when mine will start. I may have a lot of questions for you when I do though.

won't be a problem. it actually sits a little bit lower at ride height than it did before.
80inches to the top of the rollcage.

finally got all the right fittings for the fuel lines, radiator hoses and wiring stuff. new plugs, oil and a filter, radiator fluid, adapters for the clutch hose.
ITS ALIVE!!!!
wired up the ignition and fired her up briefly tonight.
no guages or fan wired up yet, so I didn't want to run it for more than a few seconds.
I ended up ripping out basically ALL of the existing Jeep wiring under the dash.
just got tired of looking at that rats nest.
ignition is the only thing wired up right now. This weekend I'll work on wiring up the fan, lights, guages and stuff.
still gotta build the rear bumpstops, re-bend the transmission shifter, and install my twinsticks.
went to install my rear driveshaft and its too long. had to drop it off to get shortened.
getting it fired was a big relief though.
basically I need the following and its complete.
1. mount cooler for steering and bleed lines.
2. mount brake booster and master cylinder and plumb 2 short brake lines.
3. mount coilover reservoirs.
4. wire gauges. and switches on dash.
5. rebend transmission shifter, and install twinsticks.
6. drop it off to have the exhaust run.
It won't make the Tellico run this next weekend though. work is gonna kick my butt this next week and not allow me any evening time to finish the little things.
admar2

brakes are done. sorta. pedal is still way too soft for my liking. either got air in the lines still, or I got a bad booster.
coilover reservoirs are mounted.
rear driveshaft is in.
new twinsticks are in.
hoodpins installed and grill finished.
wiring harness built.
tires and 35spline stubs and hubs are at EOR waiting to be picked up.
Andy dropped off my finished beadlocks at Tellico. THEY LOOK AWESOME BTW! ANDY ROCKS AS USUAL!!!!
6 relay bank arrived from Painless. it'll be mounted behind the new dash.
got 4 new autometer gauges. and six new switches.
new dash is laid out. gotta get some diamondplate or somepthing to build it out of.
list of things to finish.
1. still needs exhaust.
2. sheetmetal work on the interior.
3. gauges, relays, stereo, lights, rocklights to wire up.
4. mount tires to beadlocks.
5. install outers and hubs.
6. rear bumpstops.
front coilover springs are either too soft or the lower spring needs to be taller. front sits low with the bumper and winch on.
gonna skip ANOTHER ride this weekend to get everything finished up hopefully.

I know its been a while.
finished it up a couple weeks ago, took it out for the maiden voyage and the transmission crapped itself. a week, and $700 worth of parts and labor and its back in.
clutch is finished. at least I hope so. swapped in a smaller slave cylinder, clutch seems to be working fine now. drove it around the neighborhood a bit, seems to be shifting perfectly.
washed it up this past weekend and snapped a couple pics.
dana 300 is STILL leaking a bit. stupid bottom cover. I'll drop the skid tommorrow night, drain the 300 fluid, pull the bottom cover and reseal it. other 2 places it WAS leaking are fine now.
no leaks to report from the rebuilt transmission, which is a good thing.
realized there was no MAP sensor installed, so I ran down to autozone and picked one up, along with a new radiator cap (other one was a little leaky)
doing some "andy" work with the spraypaint and cleaning things up a bit.
only thing left to finish is my stereo system and install my CB. waiting on some new speakers for the stereo system, and still exploring where exactly to put the speakers.
I've got a problem with the engine backfiring right now though. still trying to trace that down.
should be 100% ready for grayrock after I get back from visiting family for a week.

You guys make me sick....... nah, just a little jealous actually. I'll never be able to keep up with you guys in Harlan.
It's looking great. :smokin: One thing you might consider is lowering that bottom windshield bar on the cage down to the top of the cowl. I'd think it would give you a lot better visibility. That is if you're gonna run with no windshield.
You could have an exhaust leak somewhere causing the backfire. I had a really bad leak at the manifold once and when I let off going down hill it would suck in cold air and then backfire.

installing the knock sensor fixed the backfiring.
now its throwing a code 35, which says bad IAC.
I'll have to replace that after I get back in town.
she's ready to rock now!!!
only thing left is to install my stereo.
LOL.

mayhem offroad it is.
looks like I"m just about the only one going. oh well, I gotta get my wheel on, I've been dying lately.
I'm not worried about being the flexiest rig in the world. I want it to flex well, but the main thing is I want it to put power to the ground well. no rockhumping and stuff like that. I've got a good bit of adjustabilitly in my suspension setup, so I can make changes if needed.

yeah, that ledge aint' bad at all dry. wet is another story completely.
now the far LEFT line is hard as heck even dry. I couldn't get up it. pretty good undercut ledge at the bottom and its straight up. its a newly dug-out line.
