Hey All,
There is a possibility that JAARS will be using a donated Jeep XJ Cherokee for the JAARS Day rides. I drove it through the course, and I need to run 31 x10.50s to clear some obstacles. What is the cheapest minimum lift I can use to clear 31s?

3" is the general rule for 31s on an XJ unless you want to trim fenders. As far as the cheapest one...I'm not sure. From what I've seen, Rough Country has earned its name based on ride quality.

a saw :icon_mrgreen:
or most people run a 3 inch kit with that tire
http://zoneoffroad.com/product?ki=34&gr=-1 that lacks control arms, I would def. suggest at least some lower control arms

there is another option for you

This is a vehicle that will only see off-road use, and minimal street time (ie - going from parking lot to driver training course. Ride and handling are not the primary focus.

Rusty's Offroad has a 3" lift kit with coils and AALs (http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=rustys&Product_Code=RK-300AL-XJ&Category_Code=sus_xj_kit) for less than $300.

If you are just going over obstacles that do not involve a lot of flex, you can get by with less lift (I'm thinking 2" spacers and AAL). I've got some spacers I would be glad to donate if you can find the AAL.

If you want the cheapest, then why not cut it?
