So I have a bone stock 88yj right now with the 4.2l
I am taking it to rpm in bristol to get a spring over lift on it. that will give me an extra 6.5 inches. My goal is to run 35s or 38s and have lockers front and rear. I am shure I will have to swap the dana 30 and 35 out. So what should I do??
I realy like the looks of you guys with the wide wheel bases, so that is what I am wanting. Oh and I drive this thing 100miles a week. So but as long as I stay around 7-10mpg I'll be good. I am planing on puting a mopar mpi kit on it to so that should help with the fuel.
So I guess I am asking what type axles I should look for to do this? I was thinking somthing one ton, like dana 60s or somthing out of a 70s pickup. I dont have the tools or skills to do this myself, so cost of swap is also a factor. :help:

check out my build thread. full widths wi th lockers is alo.t to be daily driven
as far as the soa you will prob gain only about 5.5 inches and thats wif ur springs arent to flat
i am running soa on 1 tons and clear 37's but i am also front fenderless and strerched front and rear with comp cut. with just a soa u will clear 35's but might have some rubbing

pm me if you have questions and i can go more indebt and give to u some cost on what it cost me to do the axle swap

Jeep Probley am, guess its beter than me spending my money on drugs lol. The guys at rpm sait that the bds soa kit comes with new springs, so my old flat ones wont be used. I think 35s should be plentty , Il prob have to do some cuting. I also think I mite run it open for a while then upgrade to lockers. Could I run full with axles and 33s? It would be shorter but I guess i wouldnt have to worry much about braking axle shafts, as i have a heavy right foot lol what is a good donor vheicle to use for the axles?

If you go full width you need a 77-79 Ford front axle. I would at least go with 35's.
