For my summer project on the blazer I decided it was time to get rid of the rear blocks and go to a shackle flip. I contact diy4x and got one of his shackle flips and so far I love it. My impression of this kit so far is awesome. The welds on the bracket were real good and he had good penetration. Also the new ride I have is much better then the ride I had with the lift blocks. Here are some pictures.

Also this summer I wanted to address the fact that my rocker panels where very vulnerable without sliders. So while I was at school I had Rob from Rock City fab fabricate me some sliders and I installed them when I got back into town. I have come down on the once and they held up awesome.

I have one last project that I am going to be working on here in the next little bit and that is to inboard the rear shocks. Let me know what you guys think.

if you don't do a lot of trailer towing, I'd take the overload out of the rears. should flex much better and help level it up (looks high in the rear in the pics).

I don't do a lot of trailer towing but I do do some and I prefer to have them a bit high in the rear. I like it when they are full of gas and tools to be level. I don't have any of my stuff in it in these pictures.

The 38's find them cheap and we may just go for it.

Hey Clint looking good. After doing the flip is your pinion angle good or did you have to do anything to it? Also did it move the axle forward/backwards any?

Hey Clint looking good. After doing the flip is your pinion angle good or did you have to do anything to it? Also did it move the axle forward/backwards any? Pinion angle is real good. Also the axle looks as thought it may be like a 1/4 inch farther forward but I have not measured.

My FSJ's rear axle shifted about a half inch forward of the stock location after the shackle flip, but it's worth it for 7" of lift.

Clint, do they have a kit like that for an '86 Dodge Ram truck? I've got a friend that is looking for lift options, and its rear shackle setup looks very similar to a Chevy.

Check over on www.ramchargercentral.com and search shackle flip. I know they have the plans on there, and at one time, one of the members was building and selling them. Very well built and netted 4" of lift IIRC
