Sadly, the deal on the F150 that I brought to Harlan didn't work out for now. The weekend after C4C, we went wheeling and, along with a lot of other things, ruined my High Angle Driveline rear driveshaft. Debating how long I would be able to drive the Tacoma around town in front wheel drive only with a Detroit (scary if you have ever done it), a co-worker and buddy of mine suggested I borrow his "farm truck" so I have something to drive. Reluctantly, I agreed. 2wd 1993 Extended Cab F250, 351/C6 3 speed auto and 138,000 miles. With no a/c. In Alabama. In July.:help::help:
The more I thought about it, I figured with a little elbow grease, this could turn into a pretty good tow rig. Through my Tacoma on a trailer and took it for a spin. Did pretty well considering the 3 speed auto and 3.55 gears. I have put about 1000 miles on it since I have been borrowing it and it is running pretty good so I called him up and made the deal. $1350.
The underneath of the hood and truck are clean as can be. It has a new ac compressor, brakes, shocks, plugs, and plug wires. Raidaitor looks shiny, so it isnt too old. Tires are 75% Goodyears. The body and inside....not so much.
Problems/to fix list:
PAINT. Was a city truck and its green. Jessie wants it red. So I am gonna spray bomb it red:)
Busted tail light
Drivers door is missing lock cylinder
Drivers door missing inside handle
Most of the dash trim pieces are missing, along with glove box, radio, antenna, and speakers.
The trans. It seems to be very strong, but it is a power hog. Looking for a zf-5 for it.
Oil pressure is reading on the high side of "Normal" most of the time. Don't know what oil is in it, so I am gonna change it to some 5w-30 and see if that helps.
This is going to be a crazy long drawn out "build", so don't get your hopes up:)
And without further ado, this is what $1350 gets you in Alabama. Happy birthday to me...a day early!:icon_eek:
