Hey what's up guys.
I'm Starting my Land Rover Discovery Build.

I have a standard OME 2" lift.
however I bought RTE 3" springs and a
u-jointed Driveshaft. nothing is installed yet as I'm debating on what shocks to get.

I know about the Blisteins but those are pricey and a little outta my range.

I looking at the OME N73 front shocks and the N76 Rear shocks

for rear links I'm going to buy the Rear arms from Keith at Rovertracks.

Need some insight on what shocks to get.

BTW will my 265/75/16's look small with a RTE full 3" lift.

heres some pictures of my Disco just click the links below

Sounds like a great project. We've got a few folks here who wheel Rovers. Also some good natured kidding from time to time.

On your pics. Can't see them if not a member of LRR. Need to post them using the and tags somewhere like photobucket. Would like to see the pics.

any of the heavy duty stock replacement shocks such as OME or bilstien will work fine, i have run both brands on my 97 D1. there are not a lot of otions for shocks with longer travel for our trucks without changing shock mounts. i now run 12" travel bilstien 7100 and had to change all mounting points. rovers north may still carry shock mount relocators that are cheaper than changing the mount and will lower the mount 2" to give your axles more drop but you lose some tuck. i have a 2" spring lift and 2" RTE body lift and run 255/85r16 tires that fit fine and your size is not that far off, and i also run 34 x 9's off road that fit well. if you go too big without changeing gearing your power and gas mileage will drop greatly. smart move going to a u-joint but before you trick out your suspension too much i recomend that you wisely spend some money on protection, ie diff gaurds, brush guard etc.

I also have the 2 inch OME... I was wanting to go bigger.... I was deciding between either spacers, body lift, or all new springs....... Sounds like you have a pretty good build!!

Well things are moving along the way.

Just did a major service to my Land Rover and changed all the fluids and oils. cleaned up the chassis and Mounted my Tire higher

I just built a new rear bumper for my Truck.

it is a slimline design but it is very very strong. 3/8 2x4 steel tubing with side nerf bars and chassis side support.

I am in the process of building my rocksilders they too will be made of the same thickness and gauge.

heres some pictures

Well I have added some new stuff

I now have a Rovertym 3" lift which actually netted a little over 4 inches of lift.

I also added a Rovertracks HD Drag link.

plus I just bought Rovertym custom radius arms for a 4" lift.

I will have pictures very soon.

Next coming items will be Rovertracks rear Trailing Arms. This along with the custom radius arms will bring my caster and pinion angles back to factory angles

and possibly 285/75/16 Remmington Mud Brutes on factory Rover Steel wheels

so the build continues YES!

this is the Rovertracks HD drag link

it is 15 times stronger than the stock Drag link.

I bought this because I bent the factory one. plus I also like to rockcrawl

it came black but I painted it aluminum to stand out.

I swaped out my OME suspension and installed the RTE suspension.

I have extra length procomp ES9000 shocks. they are cheap in price but so far the work well with the lift and I have a lot of travel now.

I have alot of clearence above the 265/75/16's

heres the pictures.

heres the radius arms

the previous owner was planning a big lift but never did it. I got them for only 115$

they were dirty and missing some paint but after a good cleanup and a good repaint they look good as new.

its looking great. Matt from www.hicountryoffroad.com has some great armor for discos. if you look at my build thread we are working on front and rear bumpers. the sliders are from him too, and those are ready to order....for a great price.

ive been talking to keith (rovertracks) and jeff (JCRovers) alot about the toyota conversion for spring 08. When I do it I'll upgrade to the RT draglinks, and thinking about resevior shocks too. But 30 spline is just why stronger, and yota diff have more aftermarket options. im just scared about the FJ-80 high pinion reverse cut. they are weak in reverse.....grr

looks great!

i have 34x9.50 tsl's for my rover, theyre great for an offroad tire but terrible for a daily driver. they wear fast, are squirely and flat spot when parked since the are bias ply. i have a second set of tires with yokohama geolanders for daily driving and i would recommend haveing a set of radials for daily driving. hope this helps you out some.

i agree with Jeff. i think the tire you're looking at is the TSL Radial though. that would I run and ive hard great luck on and off road with them.

the TSL radials I'm looking at.

I'm probably going to stay within the 32" range

32/10.5/R15 which swamper always make a large 32"

32.3 inches when mounted.

My old 4runner had LTBs. great off road / terrible on road

Ive had the 33x10.50R15 Super Swamper TSL radials for i think almost two years.

Ive driven the truck on numerous trails in East Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, and Moab. I commuted on road to all of those trails.

i have personally zero complaints about these tires. i have lots of cuts in the tires and they hold strong. when new the noise was a hum. now with cupping they was louder but not unbearable. tread wear has been normal for a MT tire. i got about 20,000-25,000 on them with 50% thread left. off road i air down to 5 psi. the side walls are soft enough to conform around rocks better than other Super swamper's Ive seen. the tall narrow tire does excellent in the deep snow that i an so used to up here. (4 foot base out my door).

my ONLY complant.....they don't make them in a 35x10.50
