Since a number of you are in the area I figured I would ask here. WebWheeling.com is putting together a ride for Harlan on Oct. 25th - 28th. We have 26 rigs and 35 people going so far. We will splitting into two groups. Group 1 will be 35's or bigger, locked front and rear, and a winch. Group 2 will be anything that doesn't meet those requirements or those who might be afraid of running some of the Group 1 trails. My question is, can y'all give me some ideas on trails for Group 2? We already have Group 1 figured out but I would like for the Group 2 guys to have some challenges without too much carnage. Thanks!

There are several trails that less equiped rigs can run at Harlan. I'd tell you more, but I am not an expert on names/numbers of the trails so I'll leave that to the guys.
Bluegill's and my TJ is not locked and runs on 33's and several of the trails are quite fun at Harlan. The best things about Harlan are price and range of trails. Kinda hard to beat free and there are trails for all ranges of offroading.

Here is a plan for the large guys

Starting on Bailey Creek side.

Ride up trail 12 and stop at Railbed on your left. Play on the waterfall and continue past it onto the actual trail. This trail takes lockers and rocker protection.
Come down and ride Fish Fossil (about 4-5 rigs at a time) (This trail just loops)
Go back up 12 and drive up 11 and take a left onto 17 then left to 13. Trail 13 is fun.
After 13 you can take a left on 12 and go back to the lower rock garden and play etc or you can drive up 12 and take a left onto the trail (george can give the # i've forgotten it) This trail run toward grapevine and big perm. grape vine isn't to hard but its fun. Big Perm should be a good challenge for the larger rigs. If you take big perm take a left at top if you run grapevine you will be at the middle rock garden. You can play in the middle rock garden and it should challenge the rigs quite a bit. If you still have time you can go back to trail 12 and take a right and then go to trail 18 and drive it to rogers ridge and run that up to 20. Then on 20 you can take a right and go to the middle fork play ground.

That is a good run for the 1st day with that many rigs or 1st half if your making good time.

After that you can run up to the upper rock garden and play. Then you can head to Mason jar or grace trail and the lions den. The lions den is amazing and i recommend buggies try that one.

George can fill in the gaps but in my head that series of trails will keep you moving with little access road time in between the trails.

You should also hit Crawfords Cry and the Ghost trail.

While your near the rock garden and rail bed you can try Creme Puff and Upper/Lower Damnnation.

I'm locked on 35's and I'm not brave enough to try those 3 ;)

Get back on grace when the trail ride gets closer and some of us will probably come up and ride.
