The engine runs but has a miss in it, I've done a compression test, checked for vacuum leaks, checked the plugs and wires, and rebuilt the carburetor. Has anyone experienced any problems with this engine or know anything else I could check for?any help would be greatly appeticiated.

I thought toyotas were 2.4 or 3.0 except the newer ones. I had a Ford with a 2.9 and it had a miss so bad it would barely run. Turned out to be the computer.

This engine is in a 85 bronco II I bought.. Was such a great deal but it might just be the computer because it's running rich an the computer is supposed to auto adjust the timing in a way. How would I check and see if it's the computer?

Is it EFI or carb? If it's EFI I got noid lights that plug into the injectors and light up when they fire. I found 2 or three were not firing and the wires were good.

Carb, I don't believe it's anything internal. I've read that there's something with the ignition systems on those engines.

On a carb the first think I would do is hook up a spark plug tester on each plug to see if it was firing.

We've done that, every plug sparks but not very time
