View Full Version : 1976 Viking 18ft pleasure boat.

My wife and I were just given an 18ft pleasure boat by her dad. This boat has been in the family since bought new in 1976. The boat has an inboard 302 V8 pushing 175hp according to documentation with boat. the boat has not been in the water but once in the last 2 years and the last time a friend of my father in laws took it out and did some damage. So the boat needs a few things fixed and a major cleaning but over all for less than $300 registration and all we will be ready to go.

The List
-New 100' anchor rope 3/8"
-New 15' dock rope 3/8"
-Fiberglass repair kit (for small damaged place under prop)
-New Fuel Filter
-Complete tune up
-New life jackets and seat cushion throw
-New lights safety and night headlights and leds inside included
-new battery

Removed carb, disassembled it and cleaned it, reassembled and she is running like a dream.

The outdrive looks like OMC.
The parts for the OMC are as rare as frogs hair, but if you keep up with the maintainance they are reliable.

Have you changed the impeller and outdrive oil?
The impellers are rubber and will tear apart and leave pieces throughout the motor that will cause overheating.
