I have a 2004 TJ Sahara with 4.0 5 speed, super 35 kit with detroit, HP front with chomoly and lock right. It's on 4" of lift with new 33" MTRs. All the work I've done as if I was going to keep it forever, but I'm considering a trade.I'd like you tell me what you think about this rig and is it worth the trade. Also would I be able to sell it later?

I generally don't like rockwells because of the width and weight. Also I know nothing about cummings diesel motors so if I have a problem with it that would be a big deal to me. What else should I consider?

I dont think the 4bt will turn enuf rpm's for your taste. They redline in the 3500ish range. If you know the basics of a diesel engine you should be able to work on it of the need ever arises. They are very basic engines, and w the exception of a alt/starter have no electronics on em.

My opinion...keep your TJ. You built it the way you want it, you know it, and you like it. You've already got a competent buggy and if you ever wanted/needed to sell, I believe you'd have an easier time selling the TJ than the rig mentioned as a trade. Just my opinion.

Like stated above, you already have a full buggy that you can beat on till you are blue in the face and the tj is great for the easier trail rides and can be driven to/from the trail. Sounds like you have built the tj the way you want it so for me, I'd stick with what you've got. Just my opinion though.

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards not trading, but needed some support to make sure I was making the right decision. I'm looking at a cheap toyota and if I can get it I will sell the jeep and put the money into my buggy and fixing up the yota some.

Just my 2 pennies, but your TJ is worth more than that truggy - and I agree with Steve, you won't be happy with the 4bt motor. 6bt would be a different story, but it probably wouldn't fit under a Yota hood. Last November I turned down a serious 9k offer for my TJ, and yours is worth a few thousand more.

I think it all depends what u want. U have a buggy so the tj is a good smaller rig and extra vehicle. If u want another rig then I say go for it.

I know the truggy decent and would say it has more wheel speed then any diesel I have seen. He has a ton in building the tranny for the extra power the 4bt is now putting out. It makes alot of obstacles and trails look easy
